Question about All-Pro Forced Air Kerosene Space Heater SPC-K75

1 Answer

Has kerosene, but won't ignite. Blower runs for about a minute, then the breaker trips. No sign of ignition attempting to light.

Remove the top of the heater. Watch out for the fan and turn the heater on. Make sure the igniter is working and use a flashlight to check for fuel spraying from the nozzle. If Fuel isn't spraying remove the nozzle and clean it. You should be able to see a light through the hole. Check the fuel filter and clean or replace if necessary. If these are OK and you still don't have fuel flow, check the air pressure. There are 2 plugs in the filter cover on the back of the fan motor. One has a hole in the center and is used to adjust air pressure. Install a guage in the other one. The pressure you want is listed on the data label of the heater.
If the igniter isn't working, check the flame sensor. It is a photo type sensor. Use a soft rag or cotton swab to clean the eye. You can test the eye with an ohmmeter. Connect it to the leads of the sensor. Cover the sensor and you should read around 4500 ohms. Uncover it and let light in and it should read 200-300 ohms.
Let me know what you find if this doesn't get you going and I can give you some more things to check. If it does get you going, please be sure to rate the answer and leave testimonial.

My North Star industrial pressure washer trips breaker when burner ignites

Is it all electric? If so, that is maximum load (pump, blower and ignition spark) . Is the breaker on the machine or in your house/building? If yu have a 20 amp machine plugged into a 15 amp circuit it might run cold but trip out when you add the spark and burner blower. Also check if there are other items using the same circuit. If your extension cord is long and light guage wire ( smaller wires have larger numbers, 10 guage wire is heavy duty and 16 guage extension cord is light duty) it could be the cause of the breaker tripping.

Replaced ignition switch in 1999 chevy cavaliar rs, anti-theft light comes on and stays on and won't allow car to start and remain on or run

You have to do a relearn procedure on the anti-theft system:

Attempt to start the vehicle. Leave the ignition on until the THEFT SYSTEM indicator turns off (about 10 minutes). Turn the ignition switch off. Leave the ignition switch off with key in for about 10 minutes. Attempt to start vehicle.

Vogelzang kerosene heater will not ignite (no spark)

There is an igniter module and then the igniter electrodes (check the air gap) that produces the spark to start the fuel burning, both could be defective.

Starts to run. Then pops CB in about 2 seconds. Ignition is OK. I think it momentarily lights off. REDDY HEATER made by DESA of Bowling Green, KY

Hi, when a circuit trips that quik, it indicates a dead short somewhere or even a motor drawing way to much amps for the breaker to handle. If this heater is a forced air type, try and find the wiring that controls the blower motor and disconnect it for just a few minutes to test it. You may want to do this with other control componants one at a time, just by- pass each one by unplugging or disconnecting each one and start it. If the breaker holds when you do this, you will then know which part is causing the breaker to trip. Keep me posted on your progress.

The dryer isn't getting hot. I know there's a

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If your dryer isn't working or isn't getting heated up, you'll need to check the following to be sure what exactly the issue is--
Blows fuses or trips circuit breaker —ELECTRIC Models:
• The amperage readings are at 240 volts. One line will be 24 amps and the other line will be 21 amps. The neutral line will be at 3 amps. If the above amperages are not present, then the house wiring, fuse box or circuit breaker should be suspect.
• Shorted heating element to housing.
• Incorrect wiring or a wire shorting to ground.
• Drive motor winding shorting to ground.

Blows fuses or trips circuit breaker —GAS Models:
• If igniter is not glowing, check for 120 V at igniter.
• Igniter harness may be loose and shorted to base.
• Incorrect wiring or a wire shorted to ground.
• Drive motor winding shorting to ground.

If it runs for a few minutes and then stops, then check for the following:--
• Empty dryer.
• Check motor spins freely.
• Lint buildup around drive motor.
• Low voltage present.
• Blower impeller blocked in blower housing.
• Drive motor - start switch contacts stuck closed.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

My relay switch keeps tripping and resetting when the key is on, resulting in a draw on the battery and funny running until the battery is dead. I replaced the key ignition but the problem is still there.

You have a dead short somewhere in your wiring. You need to track down the short to resolve this issue. Start by determining which breaker keeps tripping. If it is the main breaker the fault will most likely be in the wires coming from the ignition switch the rest of the breakers. If it is the breaker with gray wire from the ignition switch it will be in the ignition/starting wiring. If it is the breaker that is connected to the gray wire from the ignition switch through a brass bridge bar the short will be found in the horn, turn signal, warning lights, or brake light circuits. If it is the breaker that is connected to the green wire ignition switch it will be in the running lights circuit.

Torpedo heater runs for a minute or two then the breaker trips.

You can test the photocell by hooking up a ohm meter on thr rx1k scale. Photo cell should be out of the heater.Hold photocell up to a light bulb, with light on resistance of photocell should drop to 0 to 100 ohms.Holding finger over the photcell and blocking the light the resistance should go up to the maximum resistance

Reset button keeps popping and the time between becomes shorter.

check the photo eye. It's the little rubber boot on the bottom right on the back side of the burner. If it's dirty, it may not be shutting off the igniter. If the igniter runs continuously, the safety breaker will trip.
