A leak at the back of a washing machine can come from several sources.
It requires a good investigation.
Here are some of the first area to look at that are on the outside of the machine

1 Hot and Cold Fill Hoses may not be tight enough. So water can drip down the hose, or back of machine onto the floor
2 Drain Hose-Usually about an inch or so in diameter. Hose in new machines should not leak itself, but if it is not mounted or attached well enough into the drainage plumbing mounted on the wall (The box with the Hot and Cold Water Shut-offs, it will leak or splash water onto the floor during the drain cycle.
3 Damaged plumbing in the wall can seep under the wall and end up under the washer. This is very rare, but I have seen it.

4 There is a filter mounted behind a panel on the lower back side of the machine. It is possible a leak is occurring from that area. Take off the cover and see.

If the above don't handle it, the next step is for what is not easy to detect. Leaks inside the machine. You will need to go into it and LOOK with your eyes and a good flashlight.
Hope this helps,
Best, Mark

Kenmoor elite he 5t steam washer 47787 leaking from bottom. cant tell where leak is origanating from

Check your incoming fittings at the back of the machine-then if they aren't leaking your going to need to do a tear down and check inside machine-if you can't see anything going on you may need to hook water back up and run to see where the leak is-cheers Denny

Water leaking at the back of the machine.

It may be your boiler leaking and not the tank. If you can open the case, check your boiler for white chalk like build up around the seams. That would confirm you leak is from the boiler.

Leaking taps

Check first if leaking from hoses or under the machine.
Undo your taps, check that the hoses rubber seals haven't worn out. Replace rubber seals, most hardware plumbing sections have them. Also if the actual tap is leaking at the wall, you will have to change the tappets. You will need to close your main water at the timer, then undo the actual knobs, depending on the tap. Once opened take out tappets and replace with copper ones rather than plastic. Then put all back together and switch water on and check if leaking. In case it is the washing machine, try to replace hose or the connector on the back of machine. Make sure also all rubber seals are replaced with new ones. If under machine you will need a plumber. See how you go!

Model WM2277HW leaks

Leaks from the bottom of the machine are usually related to a sump issue.

You will have to remove the rear panel from your machine to see leak happening. Do not reach into the back of the machine while it is powered if possible. Be extremely careful.

The rear panel is held on by 4 screws, with these removed the panel will pull away from the back of the machine.

With great care you will need to start the machine to observe where the leak is coming from.

At the very bottom of the machine is a black rubber tube that attaches to the bottom of the tub. It splits and goes forward towards the drain pump & filter unit and it also goes towards the back of the machine and attaches to a white air chamber which connects to the fill switch via a long black rubber tube.

Leaks will usually occur in the rubber sump hose; at the air chamber; at the pump connection or pump; or in the drain hose. Careful inspection of these points should reveal its location.

Leaks coming from the tub area can either be a center tub seal or from the inlet water at the top of the machine traveling down along the tub.

Further clarification of the leak location is needed for further diagnosis

Water leaking into machine

This happens when the boiler develops a leak, usually due to scale buildup. Order a new boiler and o-rings and replace.
