Right click the Synaptics Pointing Device and select Pointing device properties OR double click the Synaptics Pointing Device. A Mouse Properties Dialogue is displayed, then select the Device Setting Tab and then select the synaptics device under device section then select the enable button and lasting select the the Apply button.

I had a similar problem just today. This is how I solved my problem:
- Went to mouse properties and saw that the synaptic pointing device was unabled.. so just enable it lol!

SOURCE: acer 5100 win 7 synaptics tochpad driver no click

Navigate to Device Manager Start >> right click computer >> Device manager I believe for 7
If the device does not is missing completely, your touch pad needs to be replaced
If it does show up completely uninstall the driver, reboot and reinstall

Yes I have used it for years. I also recommend the Kaspersky Rescue Disc.

Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

I found McAfee A little bit of a CPU hog.

I use ZoneAlarm Firewall and Avast for Internet Security.
The combination works out very good.

Mousepad not working

Hello,

Each Touchbad should have basic functionality by default in every Operating system, letting it be used even when no driver is installed. However, try pressing FN and F7 together and see if the touchpad works again. Some people accidently press this FN + F7 key when they mute the sound with the FN + F8 key.

The FN + F7 is there to disable/enable the touchpad as some people use a USB mouse instead of the touchpad.

If you still need the drivers, here are the download links. Please choose desired driver by Operating system and Touchpad brand...
