If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads (if applicable) as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

I replaced the waveguide cover and it still flashes and makes the sound. However, when I remove the cover the microwave works great. Is it safe to leave cover off?

The cover really should be on as it keeps food splatter from getting into the wave guide. Did you replace the cover or just try it with it off?? It may have a burnt particle in the cover and be attracting the microwave energy which will cause it to Arc. Whenever cleaning that cover try to keep it from getting soaked with cleaner or water. it needs to be clean and dry. Is your cover a plastic one or a Mica type??

I have a GE WES1384SM2SS microwave oven that shoots fire out of the right hand side.

Sounds like it is arcing there. Is there a plastic or Mica cover there?? If so that is the wave guide cover and it will need to be replaced and any and all carbon burn marks totally cleaned out to be able to save the machine. You can remove the burnt cover and run the unit with a container of water in it to see if it still arcs. If it does more cleaning will be needed if not, replace the covers with new ones and you should be good.

How to change the inside bulb in a ge spacemaker microwave that has a top vent fan

My Spacesaver bulb replaces from the top. You have to remove 2 screws that hold the upper vent cover. W/ cover off you will find a phillips head screw about the center that holds the bulb cover. Remove the cover screw & lift up & remove the cover, then replace the bulb, the cover & screw then put the vent cover & it's 2 screws back. There may be some variance but they are all similar.

Microwave sparking

If there is spark please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is leaking and sparking to the ground. As you have mentioned it was stored, it is quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Now switch the microwave power on and use a cup of water to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. Replace with same type. If not check the waveguides within the cabin for food particles that can burn and spark, check for rust that can corrode and spark when the ceramic paint has worn out.
If there is heating without any issues, you can use the microwave safely

Replacement of the Cover Inlet plate inside the microwave, this is part # 8184604. I have the part, I just need to know what to do to replace it. Thanks,

Hi

To locate the inlet cover, look towards the interior side of the microwave next to the microwave display. The inlet is typically located near the back of the microwave, in the middle of the wall.
Unplug your microwave from the electrical outlet and remove any food or containers.

Wipe the inlet cover, typically located on the right side of the microwave in the middle of the wall, with a damp cloth. The cover must be kept clean or it will not protect the microwave.

Dry the inlet cover with a soft towel.

Leave the microwave door open for several hours to air out the inlet cover.

Examine the inlet cover for wear and tear. If the cover has too much damage in the form of scratches or holes, it may need replacement.

Remove the inlet cover, if desired. Insert a putty knife under the plastic nail that holds the inlet cover in place. Pry out the nails and set them aside. Pull out the micro plate in front of the inlet and set it aside. Remove the inlet plate.

Install a new inlet plate. Slide the new inlet cover into its place. Replace the nails back into the side of the microwave by aligning them with the holes of the side.

I need to replace the bulb in my HITACHI MSE23 microwave. i can't get my hand in to do it, and i am v small. can't imagine how it comes out.

You need to remove the cover. There are phillips screws on the back of the cover. Remove them and pull the cover up. The bulb is accessible. Replacements are availible from auto parts stores.

Waveguide cover for Kenmore microwave

Try replacing the screws with larger ones. Maybe you ordered the wrong piece, if your microwave comes with a mica cover (A fine, square piece of mica) and you received a plastic one, you will need to get the right piece or adapt the one you received.
You can get the mica cover on any microwave service.
