Projector makes lots of noise

Yes, that can solve the problem because there's also a possibility that the lamp is the one that is causing the noise..

Hope that helps........

Fan issue with hd-52g787 52 inch

The lamp is protected if fan does not work it has a thermal fuse that will cut power to lamp etc.

One of the real issues is the fans intake air from front of set and exhaust it out rear---sets and fans get coated with fine dust and cause problems including in some cases set shutting off.

I have a wd52628

This area of the TV is a cause of some expense in rear projection.
The fan controls the temperature of the lamp. An obstruction keeps the fan from coming up to speed.
The power block controls the power the lamp uses. This helps keep the glass of the lamp from breaking breaking.
An arc is a badly mounted lamp or a lamp defect.
Dust build up can cause overheating.
Most of this area cannot be serviced by a non-technician.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Tv turns on but turns off after anout 30 seconds

I think your TV is a projection. Your lamp is already exceeded the require total amount of light can be use. You need to replace the projection lamp. Thats why you have a temp light on.

I have owned a Sony Grand Wega for about 3 years now and for the past few months the TV has been making a very loud noise. I thought the noise was the fan but came to find out it was not the fan and was...

Hello,

There is a fan beside the lamp chamber in this TV. There should be 4 fans total, and the one beside the lamp chamber might be making some noise. They are all bearingless fans, so the noise should be relatively low-pitched "whirr" if it is the fan. If the noise is more of a buzzing sound, it could be coming from the lamp driver (ballast) or from the lamp itself. Lamps tend to do strange things toward the end of their life.

If you have never changed the lamp, it is about time. They have a 2.5 -3 year life span with average use.

One thing you can try is to turn the TV on from a cold start, and watch inside the vent areas beside the lamp chamber. If you hear the noise before you see the lamp light up, then it is probably a fan. If it starts as soon as you see the lamp light up, it is the lamp or ballast.

Hope this helps you...

Loud noise from tv

if this is a very annoying screeching or sqeualing type sound, it is, in my experience, the "color wheel" which is located inside the lite engine. this is a replaceable component whick costs about $110....i've done this repair many times with no problem....
