If I have a bought a product and have a warranty on it but lost the box can it still be returned

As long as you are within the 30-day return period and have a copy of your original store receipt, your local Best Buy™ store should still be able to assist you with a return or exchange on your MP3 player. Please keep in mind that if the product is defective and you are beyond the 30-day return period, you will need to file a claim through the Best Buy Product Replacement Plan (PRP) toll-free hotline instead at 888-539-6883.

If your unspecified product, I understand some kind of MP3 & Digital Media Player, is "frozen", return it as it is to the shop where you bought it claiming you warranty. The screen of a MP3 & Digital Media Player should not simply freeze as a normal operatin conditon. It is a faulty product.

It is probably out of store warranty but you can check the original package for any manufacturer warranty. But; before you return the item power it off and wait 2 minutes and then put the battery back in and attempt to charge again

My lavod waterproof mp3 is not working has any body had this prob


Yes, I have the 2GB Music Tube cube and it stopped working very quickly. The headphones didn't work out of the box either and had to return those. I also bought the Aqua cube and that stopped working also. The aftermarket service is terrible. Lavod website for warranty is rubbish and they will not return customer questions, complaints or exchanges. DO NOT BUY LAVOD, they are junk.

60GB ipod from best buy online as refurbished


Hello cslp,

I believe that you purchased the item online (based on the title of the post) but I am confused about your listing the product "as refurbished." Best Buy stores and the BestBuy.com website do not sell refurbished iPods. We only sell new items, which I believe you item is new based on the fact that you say it was in a sealed box.

If you purchased the iPod from a Best Buy store you can get a full refund or exchange on the item within 30 days of purchase as long as you have the receipt and as long as the product is in new and resellable condition. If you purchased the product from www.BestBuy.com then you can likewise make a return within 30 days or receiving the product.

If for some reason you are past the 30 day return period, there is a one-year manufacturers warranty on iPods. Your local Best Buy store should be assisting you in having the unit sent out for service under the warranty as long as the unit is under warranty.

Unfortunately, Best Buy Product Replacement Plans (PRP's) only include coverage for hardware failures and manufacturer defects. If your iPod has been lost or stolen, we would be unable to provide you with a replacement.

If you would like however, your local Best Buy™ store should be able to cancel your current PRP coverage and provide you with a pro-rated refund for its cancellation. To do so, you would simply need to bring a copy of your original store receipt to the service desk to your local store and request to have your PRP cancelled/returned.

If you currently have a product that is defective, you should always have a number of options available.

In most cases, the manufacturer of the product is generally able to provide technical support and additional repair/replacement services by mail while the manufacturer's warranty is still in effect. After the warranty has expired these same services may still be available, but for a fee.

However, if you would prefer a more local option, you may always bring the MP3 player with you into your local Best Buy™ store for service and repairs. Geek Squad® agents are able to address repair issues for most products carried by Best Buy™ stores, and are even able to perform services under most manufacturer warranties. Please keep in mind that while many products will carry a one-year warranty, this cannot be guaranteed for every single item.

Additionally, if there is no Best Buy™ store in your area, you may always seek assistance through a manufacturer-authorized third-party repair facility. Most companies will provide listings in your local White or Yellow Pages, and may even have information available through the MP3 player manufacturer's website.

Refurbished apple ipod


Hello roman083,

Best Buy does not sell refurbished Apple iPod MP3 players. However, individual stores may sometimes have returned or demo iPods for sale at an open box discount. These items carry a full manufacturer's warranty just like a new-in-box product, but may be missing some accessories.
