How to connect laptop to external monitor

Your HP laptop should have a video out port somewhere - it might be a VGA or HDMI, see the manual for your laptop.
If you are lucky your Bush will have a matching connector
Buy a cable of the correct type to connect your laptop to the monitor. If the connectors 'match' this is easy, or else you will have to seek out adaptors/adaptor cables.
Use the cable connect the laptop to the monitor.

There is one more thing you have to do, and that is direct the laptop's video output to the correct output port. On my HP laptop, and a number of other laptops, there is function button for this: press it once and the screen will appear both on the monitor and the laptop, press it again and your laptop screen will go off but the picture will be displayed on the monitor, press it again and the picture will appear on your laptop's screen but not on the monitor

I want to connect my mp3 player to either my soundbar or flat screen. How would i go about that?

You don't identify your make and model of MP3 player or your Flat Screen TV.

Some types of MP3 player can dock into a device (MP3 Dock) that has audio output connectors that can connect to either your TV or your Sound Bar with either standard stereo phono or HDMI cables (your TV has HDMI capability).

If no dock is available for your MP3 player, a stereo phono to 1/4 inch stereo jack will connect either audio Out or Headphone Socket to your TV or Soundbar. The sound quality may not be the best with this type of connection but it should be adequate.

A retailer like Radioshack, Best Buy, PC World, Maplin, etc. (depending on where you are) should stock these MP3 Docks and cables.

Hope this helps.

I want to get a mono audio output from the TV audio sockets to combine the L&R channels to a magnetic loop amplifier. At present I only use the R channel) I want to keep the main sound as-is so that...

I assume you are taking an output from either the "Phono" or "Cinch" sockets on the TV.
There are leads available that combine left and right channels to one output. All you do is buy a Phone lead with the correct plugs on it. The lead will be a stereo lead. Cut the cable and join the screen/braided outer wired together. Connect the TV stereo inners together and you have a mono output. The TV has a buffer to ensure no damage is done to the sockets. If you want you can use a pair of 10k resistors in a "Y" configuration but as it is not a balanced amplifier input, it really doesn't matter.
Just use one of the plugs for your Induction Amplifier and you will get a mono signal on your loop that contains all of the audio information.
Hope that helps.

Connecting a turn table to a micro stereo system

You will need the following to connect this to that system:

1) Phono Pre-amp
2) 3.5mm to RCA adapter or 3.5mm 'Y' cable to RCA
3) Turntable

Your turntable will connect to the Phono Pre-Amp input. This pre-amp will also have an output. This output is RCA, from here you connect to your system using the 3.5mm adapter or cable.

That's it.
