I have bought a 4gb extreme III sd card but it will not work in the camera. It can be seen with the reader in the pc and I can put files on it but it won't work in the camera.

I'm stuck as to the source of the problem, the card or the camera. Any idea of a remedy

    hello

sir , i have browsed thro many sites,,they just said u got expandable memory n didnt tell anything about maximum size. of the capacity.

anyways,i better advise u to use only 2 GB memory card,,if u wanna take lott of photos reduce the picture quality( that doesnt affect much) n also u can readily copy to the system n format it n u can use it with rapid access

    thanking u

Memory full

If you are using the memory that came in your camera, and you do not have an accessory SD memory card installed, your camera's built in memory will fill up quickly because it has a very small capacity. If you have an SD memory card, it may be a small card with limited capacity. SC and SDSC memory cards are available with 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128 and 256 Gb capacity. Of course, the higher the capacity and the faster the card, the more you will pay. For most amateur applications 16 or 32 Gb should be sufficient. Optionally you could set your camera to take lower resolution pictures. That will increase the number of pictures your memory will accommodate, but there is a price; picture quality.

It says memory card error.i took out the sd card and it was not locked and it still says memory card locked. i formated the card also and it still says the same thing.

How big is its capacity ? Some device can only support memory card at certain maximum capacity, if you inserted card with higher capacity it wouldn't able to read it and it would say "card error".
Try to insert another card with lower capacity. i.e. if you have got "card error" notification for inserting 4 Gb memory card, try to insert 2 Gb card

Hope this help, and if you think its helpful RATE please.

8g sd card doesnt work on jvc camcorder...it says card error

Each camera have maximum memory card to be readable. If the memory capacity is to high from the limit, the camera will hard to write the data inside the card and said that "card error".
Try to insert memory card with lower capacity (4 or 2 GB) and read the user manual to know optimum memory card for your device.

Hope this help and RATE please !

Memory card errror

Change card. Especially older type digital cameras cannot handle memory cards bigger than 2 GB. Some don't handle the high capacity cards or faster cards (usually marked 'Type II, III, 4, 5, Ultra etc.).
Get a new 2GB card and see if it works.

Should you use an 8gb sd memory card in a panasonic lumix dmc-fx3 camera ?

Hi,

The manual lists the following SD cards compatible:

4 GB SDHC Memory Card
2 GB SD Memory Card
1 GB SD Memory Card
512 MB SD Memory Card
256 MB SD Memory Card
128 MB SD Memory Card
64 MB SD Memory Card

An 8GB card may or may not work. If you try it, make sure it is an SDHC card. (Note: HC=High Capacity)

Thanks for using Fixya.

What Memory Cards will work?

Hi,,

Unfortunately, the Pentax K100D is not SDHC compatible, which means that the camera can be equipped with a maximum memory capacity of 2GB.

It is also advisable to choose a fast version of the Secure Digital memory card, such as Ultra II or Extreme III by SanDisk. I would recommend using a memory card of at least 512MB, or even 1GB if you can.

Hope this info helps

Is lumix dmc-fx33 compatible with sandisk ultraII 8gb sdhc cards?

No, 8 GB is too large. According to page 5 of the manual, 4 GB is maximum:

•When the term card is used in these
operating instructions this refers to the
following types of Memory Cards.
– SD Memory Card (8 MB to 2 GB)
– SDHC Memory Card (4 GB)
–MultiMediaCard (still pictures only)
More specific information about memory
cards that can be used with this unit.
• You can only use an SDHC Memory Card
if using cards with 4 GB or more capacity.
• A 4 GB Memory Card without an SDHC
logo is not based on the SD Standard and
will not work in this product.

The manual can be had below:

Hello there,
there are clear pictures on page 29 and 29 of the instruction manual. The card will only go in one way -so don't attempt to force it .
