There are several battery saving techniques that can be addressed the first being using the viewfinder and limiting the use of the LCD as much as possible. Limit the use of the internal flash. I often switch to manual focus during cold weather to save on battery power. On my Fuji FinePix camera the rather odd looking in focus indicator provides a accurate guide for correct focus. It might take a little getting use too as it works like a bar graph with the center being optimum focus and you turn the lens barrel until the graph comes to meet the center line. Took a little before I understood what it was doing. What didn't take long was for me to see the power savings Manual had over the auto focus. Also there is a power off mode that can be set for 2 minute auto off, here is a diagram to show you were it is.

Sorry posted the solution before adding the picture now I can't add the picture. So the power off feature is found first by setting camera to camera icon then turning the main dial to "Set" to display set up menu, then curser down to "power save" highlight and save. This feature is just above the Format function. One more thing this camera takes AA batteries which can be bought pretty well anywhere as Alkaline so you aren't really out of power just the convenience of recharging and reusing the power. Cheers hope this was a help sorry about pushing the submit button too soon.

My Coolpix s6000 just won't charge I bought a new battery and it worked for a short time and now as soon as you take it off the charger it dies. please tell me what I need to do to fix it or how to send it...

It sounds like one of two things. Either there is a short circuit in your camera that is draining the battery or the camera's battery charger circuit is not charging the battery. There are a few things you can do. You can send the camera to Nikon USA for repair (look on the Nikon website for the address the closest repair center). The other thing you could do is buy an inexpensive external charger for the battery and see if the camera works for a resonable period after charging the batteries externally. carries both the Nikon and off brand models and will give you the best price. It that works, you know that the camera's battery charging circuit is the problem. If that is the case, you could pass on repairing the camera and just use the external charger. If that does not solve the problem, the camera will need to be repaired.

My Olympus charger for the LI 10B battery does not light and charge the battery. Can the charger be fixed or do I need to buy a new one? By the way, my camera is Olympus C5000. Thank you.

I would say that you need a new charger. Standard chargers that come with digital cameras will eventually deteriorate depending on how often you use it. However, it could also be a battery issue, as batteries eventually will die even if they are rechargeable. I would try the charger with a different battery and see if it works, and if not, then you will know that the problem is with the charger.

Battery is not charing from charger for Sony Camera model no DSC-5750

I presume the model you have is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S750.

If the battery is not charging it could be down to a number of reasons:

1. The contacts on the battery or charger could be corroded or dirty; clean them with a cotton bud and an alcohol solution.

2. Check the battery contacts are making contact with those on the charger

3. The battery could have died. Solution - buy a new battery

4. The charger could have died. Solution - buy a new charger

Another possibility is the battery is actually charging but the power system on the camera is faulty.

Apologies it's not a definitive answer but it gives you some suggestions.

Assuming the camera is working fine:

Probably the battery, but can't be certain without testing. They do wear out from use. New battery packs sell for a little over 20 bucks - a two pack for for $35 - you can likely fine them cheaper at a battery specialty store online. Do a google search on "battery NP-40" You could also search for a compatible charger, just in case :)

I plugged my camera into the car charger as the battery died, so it blinked and then turned off. when i arrived home, i recharged the battery and tried it on the camera, it didnt work, is it the camera or...

The Canon NB-5L is rated at 3.7volts. I don't know how you plugged the car charger into the camera, but if you got the 12volts from your charger on your camera ... you fried it. To check the battery, put a voltmeter (multimeter) across 2 terminals of the battery, it should read between 3.5volts to 4.0volts.

My Insignia HD DV HDMI will not charge!!!

Occasionally the batteries in the camera die- so no amount of charging will fix that, but does the camera work when you have it plugged in to charge? Most cameras will run from the  charger , even if the battery is dead. If it runs from AC (wall plug), but not battery, it probably the battery, but occasionally it is the circuit in the camera that charges the battery. The last resort is an external battery charger (not all cameras have them), but if you can charge the battery elsewhere, then it is the circuit in the camera- you'll have to buy an external charger if one exists

It could be a dud battery I guess even on a 'new' camera , or a faulty charger Your best bet is to pack it up and return it to seller for replacement.
