I have a Vicks 1300 humidifier. It seemed to be working fine, but one day it stopped working ("fan" didn't go on). When I took off the tank, I discovered the tray inside had overflowed and there was water sitting in the bottom of the humidifier - and apparently flooded the engine? I dumped out the water, but it no longer works. I believe the earlier versions of the humidifier had a hole on the bottom of the humidifier - so although sometimes it leaked water onto my floor if I "moved" it and caused the tray inside to spill, it never flooded the inside of the humidifier. (still have my older one, still works!)

you have to open the lid to the scent pad heater tray. the vicks pads go inside of there. now if you touch them with your hands you need to immediately wash hands after. cause of the fumes will be very strong. then close unit and turn on and it should work properly

i know why. clean the small long tubular thing that is sucking the water. put a q tip in there and get the gunk out. thats what you need to do -- try it and let me know if it worked. [email protected] it worked for me!
