You may want to examine the front panel by taking the back panel off, but my dryer (Whirlpool 40 Yr old) , its front panel is attached by spring clips that have to be wedged apart by sliding a putty knife, or large flat screw driver in the seam and wedging it outward until the spring clips disengage. putting it back together is just aligning the clips with the holes and sharply slapping them back in with the flat of your hand. I suspect that most machines are still assembled by this method as it is a tried and true engineering method of assembly. (Be careful with the flat screrwdriver, not to mar the finish)

How do i take off top of dryer to change belt

Unplug the dryer! My dryer top is hinged in the back, so I just gently pry up the front of the top after unscrewing the lint trap. Then there are two screws near the top of the front panel holding the front panel to the sides. Remove screws, then the front panel lifts up. The drum will drop down. You can now remove the drum since the belt is broken. Check the back rollers, clean the motor, clean out the inside of frame, replace the belt - making sure it is fed through the idler properly, install the drum- working the belt around the drum, making sure the belt is not twisted and in the correct position on the drum. Reinstall the front panel, making sure the drum is seated properly on the back panel and on the front panel, now you can lower the top and have at it. Your dryer may be alittle bit different but a dryer is still a dryer.

MAYTAG DRYER MDE3757AYW MAKING CLANGING NOISE CONSTANTLY WHILE DRYING ANYTHING FROM TOWELS TO SHEETS, ETC. SOUNDS LIKE PIECES OF METAL LOOSE. NOTHING ABNORMAL IS IN THE DRYER SUCH AS BUTTONS, ETC....

Sounds like the drum roller supports are warn out. Unplug the dryer. Remove the two screws on the lower front panel and tilt the bottom of the front panel out and remove the front panel. Mark and remove the wires going to the door switch. Set the front panel aside. Remove the four screws holding the drum shroud and lift up and out. Set to one side leaving the wires attached. Go to the rear of the dryer and remove the small access panel, Remember how the drum belt is attached to the tension spring loaded pulley and motor pulley. Remove the belt from this assembly and go to the front of the dryer and remove the drum. The drum rollers are located on the rear bulk head of the dryer. Check to make sure that they spin ok or if they are warn out. Replace both rollers. Check the glides on the front shroud. These are teflon glides that the main drum ride on. IF warn, replace glides. Reassemble the dryer in the opposite way in which it was disassembled.
I hope this is of some help.

GE Dryer Model DWSR483EA1WW squeaky noises

Un-plug dryer. Remove screws from front panel into dryer top. (just inside the door, at the top of the opening) Swing top up and remove screw near top of front panel on each side. Tilt front panel forward and lift off, set to the side. (leave wires attatched) Pull drum ahead about 4 inches. Do not remove belt. (it's a little tough to get the drum past the sides of the dryer) Remove the old rear drum bearing and replace it. If I remember correctly, it is a part number WE3X37. Replace drum. Check the front drum support slides on the front panel. They should be about 1/8 inch thick. If the rear bearing was squeaking, they may need replacing also. Finish re-assembly, plug back in and test.

How to remove the drum from the front and replace the drum support cup kit.

Release the top by pushing in the clips with a putty knife at the front right and front left of the dryer. Once you release the top you can remove it by disonnecting the ground wire at the rear of the top panel. Remove screws that secure the front panel to the dryer. Once all the screws are removed give the front panel a tug to pop it from the clips. Unhook the wiring harness and remove the front panel. By now you can see the drum. Remove the belt from the motor and idler wheel pulley. Yoy will need to get to the rear of the dryer and remove a grill (lower left corner).to gain access to the pulleys. Once the belt is removed, grasp the drum at the rear and give it a quick **** upward to release the drum from the rear bearing. The drum can now be removed through the front.

If you are replacing the rear bearing, consider also replacing the front plastic glides/slide that are located at the top of the door.

My kenmore series dryer is making noise as it runs. It heats but makes a noise as if coins are in the dryer. I cannot see anything from inside the dryer, is there a way to remove the front face of the...

there's 2 basic ways to removing the front panel. First is 2 screws at the very bottom of the front panel, when removed the panel can be lifted and un-hinged from the top. The other is by using a flat screw driver and prying the top up at the edges on the front side the removing 2 screws or hex screws located inside the front panel toward the top. make sure you undo door swich wires before completely removing the front panel. then in the middle of the drum on the inside of it either 1-3 screws hold the drum to the back. Remove belt first then screws then pull drum straight out. The noise may be from your rear drum bearing or coins have gotten in the paddles of the drum(inside) paddles can be removed. I had coins in one of my paddles, made 60some cents lol at same time found perfctly round lint balls. Good Luck

LG Dryer DLG7188RM LP conversion back to NG

Disconnect power. Open dryer door and remove 2 phillips screws near lint filter. Remove three phillips screws at very back of dryer top which go through an L shaped part into the back of the dryer. (the L shaped part remains attached to the dryer top) Push the dryer top back about 2 inches and lift off. Remove one screw at each top front corner holding front control panel on to dryer. Remove control panel by carefully releasing plastic tabs which are holding front control panel onto metal support. (Watch out for sharp edges !) You can unplug all electrical plugs, or just swing it up on top of the dryer. (careful not to scratch the plastic control panel) Remove the four phillip screws now assessable at the top of the dryer's front panel / door panel. Tilt forward, unplug door switch and drum light, and lift front panel off . Now set the panel aside. At this point, you may be able to continue with the conversion, but it is easier to do and see if you remove the drum.

To remove drum, Unplug the sensor wire at the bottom of the drum support and remove four phillips screws (going into sides of dryer) holding front drum support and lift up and remove front drum support. Reach in under the drum to unhook the belt. Take drum out.

Take two phillip screws out of flame spreader and push flame spreader back off brass orifice into the burner cone a bit to remove it. Unscrew brass orifice and replace with the Natural Gas orifice. Turn the brass slot headed regulator blocker screw on the front top of the gas valve all the way up. Reassemble.

Sounds complicated but it's not real bad.

A FixYa rating is expected with this much help. Thanks.
