MagicJack uses port 5060 & 5070 UDP. so go into your router and select port forwarding or applications something along those lines and insert the correct ports into the configuration. it should be pretty self explanatory. i'm not familiar with this particular model of router. if you need instructions they can be found here: http://broadband.motorola.com/noflash/customer_docs/user_guides/506705-001.pdf
if however your ISP is blocking the use of magic jack there isn't alot you can do about it

Some Magic Jack units do not reset themselves when your router loses the upstream connection (even momentarily). In that case, try unplugging the Magic Jack and then reconnecting it to the USB port.

If that doesn't help, check your firewall settings (both on the computer and the router). You may need to force the firewall to allow the Magic Jack to communicate with the wide-area network. (This could involve finding the MAC address of the Magic Jack. Then set the MAC address to a specific IP address in the router or set Port Forwarding in the router administrative pages. See http://zaxa.ca/magicjack-plus-not-working-plugged-directly-in-the-router-solved-english for some specifics.)

Please add a comment with your router make and model for specific information on accessing these settings pages.

I hope this helps.

error codes,. the first page in the manual states !
Contact your Internet service provider to verify your modem allows more than one device to access the Internet if you receive error 3002 when trying to use MagicJack Plus. Some modems and modem/routers-in-one may not be compatible for use with MagicJack Plus if multiple devices are connected to your network.

We dont know what ISP you have nor the connection type

It Shows error 401

This means that you probably have a firewall up. You need to change your firewall settings so the Magic Jack is allowed access.

Below is the exact list of the TCP and UDP Ports that you will have to open in your firewall and router (NOT port forward) to achieve 100% connectivity:

TCP Ports List: 80 (HTTP), 443 (HTTPS)
UDP Ports List: 5060, 5070, 10000-65535

See your router guide for details on how to open ports.

Magic jack: computer virus took out our computer and now back in action. People can hear me, but I can't hear people on magic jack. help

Hello.

Your router may be blocking outgoing connections from the magic jack. Magic jack works on the following ports UDP 5061, TCP 80 and TCP 443. Look at the documentation on your firewall to open the ports to allow outgoing connections on these ports.

Hope this helps.

I can not connect to the internet via my browsers (firefox and IE), i get bad request. When I directly connect my computer to the modem excluding the router I get access. Any ideas?

try to see if you can access the internet using ping Press the Windows key (bottom left of the keyboard} and at the same time press the R key, now in the search box that appears - type CMD a black box will appear in there type the following ping google.com if you get for replies then you can access the internet and your firewall maybe blocking the access try disabling the firewall. If you get no reply -then you need to look at the settings of the router you could do a factory reset of the router - button on the back of the router marked reset , hold the button - or using a untwisted paperclip in the hole - for 10secs The router will now be reset

I haven't had any problems with my MJ, but that, I think, is because I port forwarded MJ. That's what seems to be your problem. You need to port forward your MJ into your firewall/router. If you don't think you have a firewall and/or router, your a noob. All pc have a firewall, at least. Windows has a firewall. If you get your internet connection is from broadband then you most likely have a router with a firewall. Some routers are buit into the broadband modem. Figure out what kind/name your firewall, router, modem is, and go to www.portforward.com. Click on the routers model number, then click on MagicJack. If you just have a firewall, and no router, they have a page just for firewalls. If your not sure what you have then click the "Start Here" link on their first page.
