Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I replaced the toner in the MFC8860DN. I still says toner end life. I took the entire drum/toner assembly to another MFC8860DN and it works fine. So, the problem is NOT in the toner/drum assembly. Can you help figure out how to reset the MFC to detect the new toner cartridge as new and not an end life toner?
Open the door where the toner goes. Press the 'back' button. Press *00. Do not respond to the query about the drum. Close the door. Other models may have to press the 'Options' button located near 'Copy'. This should work.

1. With unit powered On, open the front cover.
2. Press the "Options" key. Display will show "Replace Drum?"
3. Press "Start" key.
4. Press 1,0 .
5. Display will show "Accepted" for approximately 2 seconds. Then display will change to "Cover Open".
6. Close cover and see if Toner Life End error message has gone.
