Smps is dead .no output .model is delta 280 fb.only 5 volt appear in ps point. pls send circuit diagram with voltage chart.and how to repair this smps.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. What is causing the battery to drain?


Running the car will drain the battery it if it's not charging ! An if your charging light is on it isn't charging ! Did you check power an grounds on the alternator ? There is a single heavier wire on the back of the alternator, this should have battery voltage ! You may want to take this to a ASE certified repair shop !
Functionality
With the ignition switch in the RUN position, voltage is applied through the warning indicator I circuit 904 (LG/RD) to the voltage regulator. This turns the regulator on, allowing current to flow from battery sense A circuit 35 (OG/LB) to the generator field coil. When the engine is started, the generator begins to generate alternating current (AC) which is internally converted to direct current (DC). This current is then supplied to the vehicle's electrical system through the output (B+) terminal of the generator.
Once the generator begins generating current, a voltage signal is taken from the generator stator and fed back to the regulator S circuit 4 (WH/BK). This voltage feedback signal (typically half the battery voltage) is used to turn off the warning indicator.
With the system functioning normally, the generator output current is determined by the voltage of the A circuit 35 (OG/LB). The A circuit 35 (OG/LB) voltage is compared to a set voltage internal to the regulator, and the regulator controls the generator field current to maintain the correct generator output.
The set voltage will vary with temperature and is typically higher in cold temperatures and lower in warm temperatures. This allows for better battery recharge in the winter and reduces the chance of overcharging in the summer.
Battery Positive Output (B+) Circuit 38 (BK/OG)
The generator output is supplied through the battery positive output (B+) terminal on the back of the generator to the battery and electrical system.
I Circuit 904 (LG/RD)
The I (ignition) circuit 904 (LG/RD) is used to turn on the voltage regulator. This circuit is powered up with the ignition switch in the RUN position. This circuit is also used to turn the charging system warning indicator on if there is a fault in the charging system operation.
A Circuit 35 (OG/LB)
The A (battery sense) circuit 35 (OG/LB) is used to sense battery voltage. This voltage is used by the regulator to determine generator output. This circuit is used to supply current to the generator field (rotor). The amount of current supplied to the rotor will determine generator output.
S Circuit 4 (WH/BK)
The S (stator) circuit 4 (WH/BK) is used to feed back a voltage signal from the generator to the regulator. This voltage is used by the regulator to turn off the charging system warning indicator. The S circuit is fed back externally on external mounted regulator generators.

  1. Check the operation of the charging system warning indicator lamp (instrument cluster). Normal operation is as follows:
    • With the ignition switch OFF, the charging system warning indicator should be OFF.
    • With the ignition switch in RUN and the engine off, the charging system warning indicator light should be on.
    • With the engine running, the charging system warning indicator light should be off.

  1. If the customer concern is verified after the initial inspection, refer to the Symptom Chart to determine which tests to carry out.
    • The charging system warning indicator is on with the engine running (the system voltage does not increase)
    • Circuitry.
    • Voltage regulator.
    • Generator.
    • GO to Pinpoint Test B .
    Your whole problem is the alternator is not charging , a couple tests with a volt meter would tell you !

Relay clicks when applying power. Yellow light comes on. TV is dead otherwise. Power supply is outputting +5, 12, and 24 volts Mainboard (3647-0282-0150) has +5 and 12 volts always applied. Checked...


Amber light on means standby voltage is high. IF amber light does not go white when power button is pushed the its one of two things.
A. No power on command from main board. Usually labeled PS-On. Should go high from 3.3v or maybe 5volts. If not present Main is defective.

B. If the ps-on line is going high then your problem is a defective power supply.

Hello www_ropesmor,

This code P0123 is Throttle position sensor circuit high input.

There four basic reasons for this code.

1. An open or short to ground between the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the ECM (Engine control module).
2. A short to battery voltage between TPS and the ECM.
3. A short between the TPS wires.
4. A faulty TPS.

See below for connector diagrams.

First, with scan tool monitor TPS with throttle closed voltage should be
I f you don't have a scan tool, back probe terminal 1with a volt meter to ground and you will see the voltage as outlined above otherwise follow the steps below.


1.Check to see if there is about 5 volts at the TPS; with engine off key on disconnect the TPS back probe the harness side terminal 3 to ground with a volt meter if there is about 5 volts go to step 2 if about 5 volts if not repair the 5 volt circuit.

2. Probe the harness side terminal 2 to chassis ground with a volt meter, if voltage above .02 repair circuit 2 short to voltage. If voltage is .02 volts or below go to step 3.

3. Probe the harness side terminal 1 to ground with volt meter if below .5 volts go to step 4 if not repair short to battery between TSP harness and ECM connector

4 Turn the ignition off and disconnect the ECM connector . With an ohm meter measure the resistance between the ECM (terminal C18) and TPS ground circuit it should be below 1 ohm. Measure the resistance between the ECM (terminal C8) and TPS signal circuit it should be below 1 ohm. If not repair the open circuit.

After faulty circuit is found and repaired clear code and verify repair.

there is a short circuit protection and overoad protection to smps so o/p capacitor may short or secondary diode may short .so check voltage at primary when switched off after 33seconds whether switching process is going or not for that check dc volt at i/p capacitor then check volt at collector of transistor if metr shows 1digit then switching is going if not then meter shows full dc volt check component near about that

What are the outputs of the varios plugs & sockets of a Delta Electronics power supply model SMP-420BB when supplied with 230 volts AC input


Forget about the individual plugs. Concentrate on the wires.

The Delta SMP - 420BB is just another
Switched Mode Power Supply.

(SMPS shortened to SMP by Delta. I'm speculating here, but I'll bet the 420 stands for 420 Watts)

No matter what the input voltage is, the SMPS will only put out three main voltages.

1) Wires with Yellow insulation are 12 Volts
2) Red wires are 5 Volts
3) Orange wires are 3.3 Volts

ANY Black wire is a Ground wire.

For example:
1) 4-pin white Molex power cable.
1 - Yellow wire
1 - Red wire
2 - Black wires

(4-pin Molex power cable is also referred to as a Peripheral power cable)

No picture No sound


This is an indication that the sweep power supply did not give the turn on pulse from the SMPS, thats the main power supply. If you know how to use a multimeter I will send you the instructions to troubleshoot this supply. Or you may need to trouble shoot the sweep supply as well. If you have no electronic or solid state repair experience, Please stay safe and call in a trained tech to assist you with this repair. Good Luck PS please rate this thread
