These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

I have a Kenwood DNX7120 and the physical buttons on the bottom (att, vol controls, fnc, nav, src, etc) suddenly stopped working. Now, I have the remote control, so this isn't TOO much of a problem,...

My unit has the same issue, started a few weeks ago.

Here is a forum post where someone was able to fix their DXN7120 by replacing the button panel: http://www.kenwoodforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1247

Here is a parts diagram showing the buttons (PN: X16-628):
http://www.pacparts.com/reference/880/DNX7120.pdf

Maybe someone could write up how to get the panel apart? Otherwise I will once I get the replacement part.

Nintendo game cube says an error has occurred, said to turn it off and check the instruction booklet

Is it the game or the game cube that is doing that. If it is the game then it is probably scratched. Try using toothpaste to clean. If it is the game cube that is broken then open it up and see if anything looks broken

you say it wont turn back on but it has power.
is the light red ( stand by )
or do you have green and blue lights
    Did it fall????
try cleaning the disk and the lens
you can also run the auto diagnosis..

    HERE'S HOW
Auto-Diagnosis (PlayStation 2 system) 1. Turn on the system without a disc inside. 2. Once at the Main Menu, press the triangle button to enter the Version Information Screen. 3. Highlight the "Console" option, and then press the triangle button again. 4. Next, press the X button, highlight "On", and then press the X button once more. 5. Now press the circle button twice to return to the Main Menu. 6. Press the eject button on the front of the console, and insert a disc. 7. Now close the disc tray, but DO NOT reset the system. 8. Highlight the Browser option from the Main Menu, and then press the X button. 9. In the Browser, an icon of the disc should appear on the screen. Highlight this icon, and then press the X button to read the disc. 10. If the auto-diagnosis is successful, the disc should load properly at this point. NOTE: The auto-diagnosis feature will return to "Off" the next time a disc is inserted.

    Disk format

    1) Turn on machine
    2) Open Tray
    3) With tray still open hold the reset until the tray closes.
    4) Tap the reset once.
if there is a format disc error, it says "Please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 format disc." It is accompanied by a sound similar to the browser, but with a more tense noise. This is caused by a disc being so badly scratched that it completely fails to recognise the format, or if there is a problem with the laser. 10. If the auto-diagnosis is successful, the disc should load properly at this point.NOTE: The auto-diagnosis feature will return to "Off" the next time a disc is inserted.
