Remove 3 wire connector from the interlock unit. This has 3 wires one black and 2 white. Short out the sockets of the two white leads. Start machine and the door lock light on front panel will be on.

The most common culprit for this failure is that the interlock release solenoid has failed, either because it is jammed or because your brake light circuit has failed. (Do I need to mention that your foot must be on the brake in order to take the vehicle out of Park?)

First, check your Owner's Manual to determine how to bypass the interlock so that you can move the vehicle (if you need to move it).

Next, verify that your brake lights are working. If they are not, replace the fuse for that circuit. If they are still not working, replace the brake light switch.

Next, remove the cover from the PRNDL and check the condition of the interlock solenoid. Make sure it is receiving voltage when the brake is applied. Replace as necessary.

Lid lock bypass

Your "lid lock" really is an interlock to prevent machine operation when the lid is open. I use a plastic clothespin to close the interlock because the lid on my washer got bent

I can't start the car in remote need to bypass clutch interlock switch how do I do that with out removeing plug. Remote is compatible for both automatic and manual transmission.Don not know what t

I do not recommend remote start systems for manual transmissions. You would have to bypass the clutch interlock to enable the starting circuit. If you left the vehicle in gear and used the remote you could do damage to the vehicle or other property (hopefully the parking brake holds the car in place). I have never seen a factory remote system on a manual transmission, to much liability....

My maytag pav2300aww will not spin at all yet it agitates and drains well I was told to clean the agitator so I took it off yet the washer still don't spin the switch look wore out to me so I by-passe

Check the water level sensor and the lid safety interlock. Many washers will work fine with the lid open EXCEPT during the spin cycle, so this is the first logical place to look. Try bypassing the lid safety interlock switch.

Washes fine will not spin and drain

One of the main reasons for the washer not to spin or drain is the interlock switch. Top load washers are designed with an interlock switch that stops the machine if the lid is opened during a spin cycle. This switch is operated by a post mounted on the lid that goes into a hole in the rim of the machine and pushes down on the switch, or a bump on the side of the lid right by the hinge that presses against a switch when the lid is closed.
Determine which type you have. If it is the type with a hole and post, get a screwdriver and stick it into the hole with the machine in the spin cycle and the knob pulled out. If the machine starts, then the post is missing or broken.
If you have the other type of door interlock then the switch may not be working, but you will need a service call to fix it.
Would appreciate if you mentioned the model number of the washer.

the micro switch which is part of the door interlock may be at fault, & need replacing. Or a wire may be broken/burned off

in the interlock. Or it may just be stiff, try spraying it with WD40 (not whilst the power is on!!)
