Question about HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP OfficeJet 7410 All-In-One screen on but no response

The front panel is flashing screen, but no response. The other solutions listed at FixYA (holding keys turning on and off and unplugging the wireless card from the motherboard) haven't worked.

And HP want to sell us a new printer, after we spent over 400 pounds less than three years others have noted it seems like these printers go on the blink at the same time in their life span... please help if any more ideas- or possible solutions without having to spend the same again for a new printer. thanks!

I have exactly the same problem. Suddenly while sending a printout, it stoppped responding. After a Power off - on, it only displays HP logo and nothing else is functioning. I tried every suggestion offered in FixYa but nothing! When I called HP service, they respond that the solution is to replace it with a refurbished model for 165 Euros. They didn't even want to just take a look at the device. After reading all the posts regarding this model, I concluded that probably they (HP) has put inside the motherboard of the printer an expiration date chip !!!!!!!! Just to force us to invest to newer models. This is totally illegal and unethical. Notice that I already have in stock 10 cartridges (black and colour) for this model !! (costing over 200 euros). Actually this is my 6th HP printer. The older the model, the more reliable is. So, my advise: First check for worthy service office nearby and after decide the brand of the printer. I had also similar experience with Xerox Phaser (wax) printer and their service bureau.

I have the same exact problem. I called HP and they offered me an extended warranty for purchase or a refurbished "upgrade". No matter what I do to the printer (hitting buttons, uplugging, etc.) the display keeps showing the HP logo. This is BS if these printers are programmed to do this simply based on their age.

We have the same problem and it has been progessively worsening during the last two months. At least before, in an hour or so machine would finish loading and make itself available. Most recently, it mysteriously finished loading and worked after a day and a half...but it seems that this time we won't be so lucky. This is our second HP All In One and I recommend one seek out OTHER brands if they are available. Our first one died in its second year and we had no warranty. At least with this one, we bought the 2 year extended warranty for 60 bucks (which I'm usually against) from Office Depot who just sent us a $500 store card in the mail to replace it. Just in time!

Try this partial soltion; it's worked for nearly everone who's tried it. Unfortunantly, you lose your wireless capabilities, but at leat you're not left with a $500 paper weight:

(It's interesting that the majority of posts with this issue have occured on numerous sites during the last two months).

You have not mentioned the PC operating system like Win XP, Vista, Win 7.

Do i need a power cord to operate the 7410

The OfficeJet 7410 has a separate power cord and adapter (transformer) that has an output voltage of 31VDC @ 2420mA.

The original HP part number is 0950-4483 but they have a substitute part number of 0957-2145. It can be ordered from HP from this page:

HP Adapter 0957-2145

You may also be able to find one by either Googling the part numbers or if you have an eBay account search there. You may find a better deal.

Thanks for using Fixya. Please take a moment to rate this solution.
