It sounds like a contact problem. I don't know if you change lenses but sometimes when we do that we can touch the contacts.
Get a clean dry t-shirt and gently wipe the brass coloured knobs on base of your lens (the one that slots into your camera body) and, even more gently, wipe the corresponding contacts inside the inner rim of the camera body.
Just make sure that you are out of any wind/dust while you are doing this.
Hope this fixes it!

My rebel T1i won't take pictures on AF

If you have a specific zoom lens on and it will take shots in MF manual focus but wont in AF auto focus you could have a broken ribbon connector in the lens. Try with another zoom lens if you get the same problem it could be the camera. If it works OK then the ribbon in the affected lens may need replacing.

Wont auto focus. Not sure why

There is a button to the side on your lens that says AF/MF. You are probably on MF (manual focus). Switch it and you should be fine! Hope this helps!

Hi, i have recently bought a used canon 1000d. it worked fine at first after about 500 shots, it cant work in AF mode please advise thanks

Do you have the switch on the lens set to AF and also you have to go into the settings and set the focus to AF it might have accidentally got switched to MF on the lens or in the camera settings. if they both aren't set to AF then it wont work Hope this helps

My E-500 wont focus. AF settings do nothing!

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the body and lens where they meet with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol?

Auto focus on my d300 does not work

There is a [MF - AF] switch on the camera body where the lens attaches to it.
Move the switch to the AF selection.

AF = AutoFocus
MF=ManualFocus

Nikkon d50 wont auto focus

the D50 will only auto focus with an AF-S lens...make sure you are using an AF-S lens.

Also, check the swithc on the lens is set to "A" not "M" ...

Also, in the menu, check you set the camera as autofocus, not manual focus

Can the 40-150mm be used in AF mode with EC14?

Tullio,

Olympus 4/3 adapter will work with OM lenses.
All in manual.
Manual focus, zoom and F stop.

Focus modes

There are four focus modes: S-AF (Single auto focus), C-AF (Continuous auto focus), MF (Manual Focus), and S-AF/MF (Simultaneous mode). (SINGLE Auto Focus): Focusing is performed once when the shutter button is pressed halfway. C-AF (CONTINUOUS Auto Focus): The camera repeats focusing while the shutter button is pressed halfway. (MANUAL FOCUS): The function allows you to manually focus on any subject while looking through the viewfinder. SIMULTANEOUS USE of S-AF mode and MF mode: You can fine-adjust focus manually by turning the focus ring after AF is performed in the S-AF mode.
