I had cyberlink youcam3 on my new HP laptop but the images display is slow motion. what could be the problem?

Hi there,

I understand you've been having an issue with the webcam on your Pavilion G6 laptop being choppy and slow. I will certainly do my best to help with this.

The first document below will give you troubleshooting steps to check your webcam and it's software to make sure everything is functioning as it should.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

If things still aren't working after those steps you can make sure your Cyberlink software is up to date but clicking the link below and installing the update.

Hope this helps, have a great day!

How do u turn on your webcam

Its activated through webcam software. It shows up as a usb device usually or has the specific name for that model cam.

Most HP's come with a basic version of CyberLink Youcam application.

If you no longer have the software, take your model and serial number down, go to HP's website and look for the software under your model. Make sure you correctly select which OS you're running from HP's drivers and apps pages.

Worse comes to worse, you would buy cyberlink's software (or upgrade).

Hi,

I don't think its your webcam that is at fault. I think it's already in skype. I have the same Lenovo model and there are times skype doesn't transmit video. So, I usually do is turn on and turn off the skype video call for the video to reappear. Can you do the following:

1) Make sure you have adequate lighting. Sometimes if you are in a dark room, skype will also transmit black videos to the other end.

2) Have you checked the video settings in skype? Go to Tools->Options. Click video settings. Click webcam settings and try to tweak your video from there.

I have a compac CQ60 and the webcam has just stopped working on skype and also doesn't take pictures. what has happened?

You can try uninstalling the web cam driver , and reinstalling it back ..
Click on start > in start search type in device manager {(for vista) for xp right click on My computer > click on properties > then select hardware > device manager }.
In device manager look for something like imaging devices.
Please click on the + sign beside it .
Then right click on the web cam driver > and uninstall it .
then go to the following url and download the web cam driver from there.
http:\\hp.com > software and drivers.

Install the web cam driver . Restart the notebook .

Hp Webcam

If your Notebook is installed with Vista, there is no option to start the Webcam directly without using any application.
However, you can try using the HP Webcam drivers which are for XP with which you will get a Preview window to use the webcam without using any application like Messengers etc..:
Download the above mentioned driver from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp35001-35500/sp35414.exe

Save the file in the Notebook and double click once the file is saved to install the drivers.
However, if you are unable to access the webcam using Quickplay application, I recommend you to try reinstalling the application by following the instructions below if the Recovery Partition is available and you are able to use the Recovery Manager application :
Click on Start and then on Control Panel in the window that appears, click on Classic View in the left pane.
Now, among the icons that are displayed, double click on Programs and Features icon and among the list that is displayed, click on HP Quickplay and click on Uninstall button on the top.
Now, follow the instructions available in the link below to reinstall Quickplay using Recovery Manager :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&docname=c00834921&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

You can also try downloading Cyberlink YouCam application which is provided for all latest Notebooks to access Webcam from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39001-39500/sp39372.exe

Save the file into the Notebook and double click the file to install the application.
You can find the required instructions to use Cyberlink YouCam application to access the webcam of your notebook from the link below :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01414839&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Additionally, you can find the details about YouCam application from the link below :
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01415015&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
