You product key would be located on the cd cover for office suite. If nit you should have received a card with key or an email. Key is same for whole office suite. If it is asking only for word key and you have other parts of suite intalled you can uninstall it and reinstall.

These steps are similar to other Windows OS installations (Vista, Windows 7).
Below is the detailed procedure of installing Microsoft Windows XP:
  • Before installing Windows XP or any other operating system, you should backup all your data. Data can be backed up on a separate partition, if the hard disk is partitioned or you can back it up on external storage devices like CDs or on a network.
  • Restart the computer and go to the Setup menu by pressing F2 and change the first boot device to CD, press Esc and save settings.
  • Insert the CD labeled Microsoft Windows XP into the computer and restart the computer.
  • When the pc restarts, a message will appear telling you to press any key to boot from CD, press a key immediately the message appears and the setup process will begin.
  • After the files have been loaded, Windows will start and it will give you an option of repairing using Recovery Console by pressing “R” or continue with setup by pressing “ENTER”; press enter to continue with setup.
  • Setup will list all your disk partitions, highlight the partition where you want to install Windows, this is mainly partition “C”, press “D” to delete the partition, then press “L” to confirm.
  • Highlight the partition you deleted, and then press “C” to create a new partition, press “ENTER” to create the partition.
  • Press “ENTER” again to install Windows on the New (Raw) Partition you have created.
  • Format the partition using NTFS file system.
  • After format has completed, Windows will restart and setup will prompt you to boot from CD again. Ignore the message and let setup continue automatically.
  • Follow the next steps which will ask you to setup the system Time and Date, Network and enter a serial key, until setup finishes.
  • After setup has finished, Windows will restart and will welcome you for the first time; Microsoft Windows XP will have successfully been installed on your computer.

I purchased my genuine Microsoft XP Home/ Pro editions as 3 paks from Edirect Software in 2006. I even have the invoice number but I don't have the product key. How to I get the correct product key code...

Ok - contact your local Microsoft office, explain to the tech support guys your problem... they will ask you a couple of questions about the CD to make sure you have an authentic disk... once they are happy they will issue you with a brand new Key free of charge there and then... It will only take you about 5 mins to get a new key.

If this helped you then please help me and vote

Server2003 AD problem

go to active directory - users and computers, set a home folder in the profile tab of the users options,

also if you go into the gpo manager (group policy object) and i think the option of folder redirection is under windows - administrative templates

to open the gpo go start -> run -> mmc

file -> add/remove snap-in and select the gpo editor you can set this to enforce, if you want to do specific users you will have to create a new security group and add the users into it, then select the options that you want them to have, you can even restrict specific operations when they are logged on from there.

hope thats ok for you, if you need clarification just ask

Hey There,

You are getting this problem b'cause loss of ur system file i.e. "CONFIG.SYS", Which loads ur initial files and drivers needs to start ur operating System.

You must follow the steps given below to start repairing ur System:
1. Insert the Bootable OS Disk into ur CD/DVD-ROM.
2 Reboot ur System.
3. The system will prompt You to "Press any key to boot from CD".
4. Press Any key.
5. Now the system will load all initial files and hardware driver.
6. After loading driver and files, OS will ask you for acceptence with their Terms and Conditions.
7. You must Agree with terms and condition. press F8 key for accepting terms n conditions.
8. After step 7, OS will search for the partition of ur Previously installed OS. If you have two operating system then it will show two Partitions with their name and drive letters. (You must remember the drive letter where ur OS is installed that u want to repair)
9. Now Leave that option as it is. And press Escape key.
10. Now You'll be able to see all those partitions you have on ur Hard disk, with their drive letter, Name and free space.
11. Select the partition of OS that u wanted to Repair, By Scrolling Arrow Keys. (Be carefull while selecting the Partition. If you select wrong partition then You wont be able to repair ur OS)
12. And then Press "R" Key from ur Keyboard.
13. Now OS Will search for the partition you have specified.
14 It will Delete Old system files and Copy New files (Note: You won't loose any data, Previously you had saved on ur boot partition).
15. After Step 14, OS will save the configuration and Will Reboot itself.
16. Again You will be asked for "press any key to boot from CD". Don't Press Any key at this step.
17. Now follow the wizard n specify correct information you will be asked.
18. It will take about 20 to 30 minutes to Repair ur OS.

Note: These Steps are not valid if you are using Windows Vista
