What is the current tempretures in both your freezer and refrigerator? is your unit in the defrost mode at this time it lasts about 8 minutes let me explain the defrost function first The coils inside the freezer are the only part inside the whole refrigerator that "get cold". They need to stay free from excess frost build up so that air can pass through the coils and reach the refrigerator section of your refrigerator. Every eight hours or so, depending on the type of defrost timer or control you have, the compressor and fans will shut off and the machine will go into defrost mode. When the refrigerator is in defrost there is a heater that is tied into the evaporator coils inside the freezer that comes on. This heater is behind the rear panel inside the freezer where the evaporator coils are located. It melts the frost that has accumulated over the course of time. After about thirty minutes the machine comes out of defrost and goes back to normal operation.
Now the air can continue to pass through the coils and keep the freezer frozen and the refrigerator cool and everybody is happy. On the other hand if your unit is continueing to get warmer here is what happens when you have a malfunction in the defrost cycle

  • Air cannot circulate from the freezer(where the cold happens basically) to the fresh food section.
  • Your refrigerator will run constantly to try to cool the fresh food section. This will develop a new set of problems with your refrigerator. More on that later....
  • Excess frost builds up within the coils inside the freezer. This is what is blocking the air flow to the fresh food section
  • Usually you will notice the icemaker will stop making ice. Poor air flow and not quite cold enough temperatures in the freezer cause this
  • Water will not come through the dispenser on the door. Cold air settles, the water resovoir will freeze.
  • Compressor may overheat and shut off. This is when you hear, click, click, click. Not good
  • Ice Cream in the Freezer will start to get soft. That's really not that bad. lol take two thermometers in put one in each the freezer and the refrigerator if both the freezer and the fridge are around 50 degrees then you wouldnt have a defrost problem instead you would have a compressor problem another way of quickly finding out if your do have a defrost problem is remove the rear panel inside the freezer if you see any ice up then you have a defrost problem if not then it would be compressor based and you would have to call a technician unless it was like the start relay on the compressor or the fan was not running on the compressor if you have any further questions message me back and please remember when our chat is concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your appliance situation Thanks again

Samsung RF25HMEDBSR bottom freezer fridge. Fridge is at right temp.,ice maker works, but the bottom freezer is not working.

The condenser coils are usually located under the refrigerator. They dissipate heat as refrigerant passes through them. If the condenser coils are dirty, they won't dissipate the heat effectively. As debris builds up on the coils, the refrigerator/freezer becomes less efficient, causing it to work harder to cool down. If the coils are significantly dirty, it will not be able to maintain the proper temperature. Check the condenser coils to determine if they are dirty. All models have coils in an enclosed area usually accessible via a vented cover at the back of the refrigerator. These coils help to keep the refrigerator and freezer cool. If these coils become too dirty from dust or other particles, the freezer may not work as efficiently.
unplug when taking the vent panel off to clean. bottle brush or a vacuum attachment be careful not to bend aluminium fins.

Open door 18 beeps lights flash red green fridge not cooling

Fridge keeps beeping or buzzing: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

Have changed water filter, but indicatot panel calls for order h2o filter, and comes on every time we dispence water. why?

Most models also have a filter indicator reset button located in the same area. After changing the filter, reset the filter status light by pressing the Filter Indicator Reset button or by pressing and holding the Filter button for 3 seconds. The status light will change from red to green or the status display will change from "Replace" to "Good" when the system is reset.

If your model has a water filter indicator, but no reset button, press the light switch in the refrigerator compartment 5 times within 10 seconds to reset the system. The status light will change from red to green when the system is reset.

The freezer temperature changes sporadicaly. It

The temperature would charge due to change of cycles in the refrigerator operation. For example, the temperature would slowly rise if the compressor has shut off. Also, the temperature would rise significantly during the defrost process. A heater is activated at the evaporator coil to thaw the ice that forms there. This heat would transfer to the freezer unit and would cause the temperature to go up.

As long as the cycles are constant, and the temperature does not rise significantly and keep rising for a long period, there is no problem.

Temperature 0 The digital display switches from normal 5 to 0. Resetting works occasionally

There is likely no problem. The temperature inside a freezer will charge incrementally during the day as the refrigerator goes through various cycles. For example, during the defrost cycle, the freezer temperature will rise significantly due to the heat from the evaporator heater. This temperature rise is temporary and should not cause a problem.
