hi, open the compressor cap and check the voltage there. If voltage is available then the compressor is faulty. Else, check the relay and associated parts for the fault.

Our 1.7 cu. ft. refrigerator fan is making a loud vibration noise. The white plugs covering the screws won't come out so that my husband can fix the problem. Any idea how to get those plugs out? It seems I put a dish in last night that pushed against the plastic fan cover and bent it enough to cause the noise. He says it looks like there's an ice build-up. Is this possible? It doesn't have a freezer compartment. Thanks for any help anyone can give us - the noise is pretty irritating. Bev

I have a Whirlpool refigerator model ED5THA that has quit cooling. The blower fan still operates and the lights come on but it does not cool. The problem just began yesterday. I think it is probably the compressor. What are your thoughts and how much do you think the repair would be. It is only 5 years old. orthoman4
