Question about HP Photosmart 7450 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Ink cartridge won't work. The cartridges were refilled, and worked except one. Told to replace the cartridge. Do these cartridges wear out in time, if so, why did the other cartridges work. They have been refilled before.

Frequently use of same refill cartridge some time becomes dead or print is not able to recognize you can try with installing new one. Just follow these steps if it works but I advised you to change the faulty cartridge

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.

If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:

1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.

2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.

3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.

Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.
Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day

U051 error message. Won't print

Well, you must be using PG30, CL31 cartridge for your printer.

Did you refill your cartridge?
For error 051 means printer is not reading the cartridge. (cartridge is not readable)
When you put refilled cartridge, that's what it happens.
(after 3~4 times of color refill, color cartridge is no long to use, only applies in Canon
and there is no solution for it.)

Pls replace with new one.. and will work again.

Or if you need to refill again with other cartridge, pls....unplug your printer before you taking out the cartridge. In this way, you can re use your cartridge. Little trick... but no solution will work, once cartridge is not readable.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".
Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

After refilling the canon pg-510 ink for the first time it worked well except not showing the correct ink level. When refilled the second time it is giving an error message E and some number. I am...

Almost all printers nowadays have a special integrated circuit inside the cartridges that decreases a counter each time they are used and that is how they know the ink is empty. They also DO NOT reset when you refill the cartridge - this is a way to force you to buy brand new ones...

There are ways to reset the printers after installing refilled cartridges - some need special electronic devices to do it, others only need to push some buttons in a specific order. Please, check these four links and tell us if they helped you solve this problem:

My Hp printer does not want to accept refilled ink cartridges

HP printers might work and might not work with refilled cartrdiges. You can use it but will create a problem in future and quality of printing will not be good. If still you wish to use refilled cartridge then please tell the name of the printer. If your printer hardware gets damaged because of using refilled cartridges then even if your printer is in warranty hp will not replace it.

Changed black ink cartridge and still will not print black....colors do print except black

If you are using a refilled cartridge the contacts may no longer be good. They do wear out and every so often buy a new one and refill a few times before replacing again.

Printer does not recognize carts

I have refilled my cartridges many, many times. A messy job, but well worth the savings. Never over fill, handle carefully.
The printer will give an error message, but just press cancel, do not order a new cartridge, Your refilled cartridge will work on the lexmark x5470. Good luck.

Refill Toner Cartridge for Laser Printer

Nobody has a clue how to refill a laser cartridge with ink. :)))

OK< just kidding, here it is:

First of all, laser-cartridges have toner (a fine black powder) and not ink.
Second: There are 2 methods to refill a laser cartridge: dismounting it to get to the toner chamber (involves a lot of tehnical skill) or the melt-and-pour method (see here http://www.urefilltoner.co.uk/), but you need the melting device.

But because from your question i see you dont know a thing about refilling, better go to a refill center.

Lexmark x1180 blank ink not coming through

You can refill cartridges only a certain number of times.
Check the copper contacts and see if they look like new. any amount of wear and they wont work anymore. That being said, All printer manufacturers say to buy new and not refill.Maybe that is a moneymaker for them, however, I have never had good luck with refilled cartridges.

Color

I am assuming from your brief problem description that you are getting bad colors when you changed your color cartridge. Are you using a new and certified HP ink cartridge? Are you doing a refill of your old ink cartridge or have bought one of those "re-manufactured" cartridges? The head in the cartridge is very sensitive - when they are damaged or poorly handled - it could result in cross contamination of the color inks. Hence - the brownish color you see could be the result of that cross-contam. My impression is that the remanufactured or older or continously refilled cartridges may be more prone to getting damaged - maybe bec of inherent wear out. Hope this helps.
