My modem is through insight and it works some times but it will cut off the phone and internet and I try to reset it and it only has solid lights on the power and ds and the US light blinks how do I fix this?

It sound like the router overheat that is why it cut phone and internet. but if after reset it does not work and just do what u say , may be a defect iside due to overheat.

or use your IP address on browser and make sure settings are ok.

    or check your signal cable.... maybe problems w/ ypur internet and phone provider.

What happen when a adsl line work with a phone but not with a router


The phone line does two jobs. Voice phone which is what it was originally used for and ADSL modem which works at a high audio frequency.
Somewhere between the phone socket and the modem should be a filter splitter. One part goes to the phone and the other to the router. Make sure you have that.
The modem will have a power light and several additional lights. Assuming the power light is on we are interested in two of them; The ADSL light and the Internet light. When you switch the modem on you should first see the power light flash then go solid. Then the ADSL light will flash and then this should go solid. If this light does not come on then you have not plugged the phone wire in properly. If this light just keeps flashing slowly then the modem can't see an ADSL signal on the phone line. If you have a spare router you could try it and see if the ADSL light goes solid on that.
If the ADSL light is fine then the modem has locked onto the signal on the phone line, sync'ed. If not then this is the problem you must solve. Ask your ISP if service is set on your line.
The next light is the Internet light, this maybe a symbol like an i or a world. This light will begin flashing then go solid. It will flash with Internet traffic. This means you have Internet, as far as the modem is concerned. If this light does not stay on then your ADSL account name and password maybe wrong. You can correct this but that's a different question you need to ask.

If you don't have a PPoE password from your ISP, then just connect the ISP modem to the main port on the router. Then connect a PC with a network cable. This should work, if not try connecting the modem directly to the PC to test.
If you get internet with just the modem, then try resetting the router.

Hi, what's the brand of the modem you are using?Are you a Verizon HSI cust0mer?

- checked the lights, if you got a dsl flashing light on your modem, you will have to re-check the cable from your modem to the wall jack
- if your dsl light shows solid, that's shows signal is coming in, we just have to check the configuration of your modem since you tried to reset it.
- if your dsl light shows solid, try to access your modem by opening your internet explorer and punching in this numbers in your address bar 192.168.1.1

My Belink (F5D8236-4) Router stopped working. The modem light blinks orange. When connecting the modem directly to the PC the internet works. How do I resolve tis issue?


Turn everything off, modem, router and computer.
It shows your router is not configured properly
Turn on the modem first and wait for a solid data/connect light.

Turn on the router, give it two minutes.

Still if problem presists you need to reset the router ..

How to reset::
Push and release the “Reset” button.
The lights on the Router will momentarily flash.
The “Power/Ready” light will begin to blink. When the “Power/Ready” light becomes solid again, the reset is complete

Westwall modem Internet is solid red light


If the internet light is red, it means that the modem cannot get an ip connection from the ISP.

If your ISP has a PPPOE connection, most likely, the PPPOE password is not correct.

To ensure your settings, access the modem through a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.1.1.

Default Username: admin
Default Password: password

If this doesn't work, try admin for the username and password. If still doesn't work, you will need to reset the modem. Just hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Then turn it off for 1 minute.

Try again to access the modem, under Configuration, click Edit beside My Connection. Type your ISP username and password then Save.

Modem light is blinking no internet light


hi, there are two ways to assit you on this issue.Either you can call belkin customer care which is a TOLL FREE no. on the product box and get assisted or else proceed with the following basic steps.
1. the product that you have is an obsolette.
2.Before troubleshooting the belkin product. Please connect your computer directly with the modem (without router)on the ethernet(lan) port and check for the solid lights on the modem after turning it on, after that check for internet connectivity, if you can go online, its fine else you need to contact your modem vendor and get fixed.
3. if u can go online, then connect your router isolated port to the modem amd your computer back to the router's lan port(port 1) and check for the solid internet,power,modem,lan lights on the router.
4. if all are solid lights , check you can go online else you can hold the reset button at the rear side of your router for 2 mins if you have a cable modem and then check for connectivity.
5. If you have a dsl connection , then better contact customer care, they assit you very well.

1st time installation: cannot install modem properly


Hey try this one, if doesn't work let me know. First you have to powercyle your modem - meaning turn it off for 10 to 25 seconds then power it up again. Then check status of the modem lights. It should all be in solid green. Else you have to check if cables are properly connected - Data cable (green cable) one end connected to the filter with labeled "DSL/PHN" or the one with monitor engraved, then other end connected to the green port on the back of your modem. Then check also connection of filter to walljack. After which check status of the lights. If still not all in solid green. Check devices near to your modem, these might be the reason for interference of DSL signal. Electronic such as monitors, speakers... must be 2-3 feet away from your modem. Check modem lights. If all in green, test connection. Also there should only be one phone jack connected to your DSL phone line.

I cannot connect to my friends insight digital broadband with my computer. what do i do? i've tried repairing and renewing the ip address, but nothing...


Is the PC wired directly to the broadband modem?

If it is, try this:
* Turn off the PC
* Turn off the modem - make sure its powered off completely
* Wait 30 seconds
* Turn modem on, wait for the lights to become solid (Cable or Online LED should be solid)
* Start the PC

Followed the cd set up instructions to the letter every thing worked except it will not connect to the internet internet connection is ok when plugged straight into the computer


Try to reset the router first. There's a reset button at the back of it. Press it for 20 seconds, then unplug the power to the router, unplug power to the modem as well. Make sure the modem is connected to the Internet/WAN port of the router, and your PC is connected to port 1 on the router as well. Now power on the modem first, wait for all the lights to go solid, when they are solid, plug the power back to the modem now and check if you can go online now.
