You have a firmware problem try updating the phone's firmware or take it to a mobile store and have the firmware reflash.

To specifically answer your question, a hard reset is simple a removal of the battery and reinserting it.

However, you wish to do more than that, you want to wipe the device.

You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

When adding, deleting, or updating applications on your BlackBerry smartphone, your BlackBerry device resets itself and stops responding.You receive the following error message:
Device error 400

  1. Disconnect your Blackberry smartphone from your computer.
  2. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  3. Open BlackBerry Application Loader.
  4. Reset your Blackberry smartphone.
  5. When the LED indicator has turned on, reconnect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the following screen you will see either USB:Unknown or USB:; click Next.
  8. Select the required applications from the applications list and click Next. The firmware is loaded to your BlackBerry smartphone.
Warning: The following procedures will delete either all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the data on your BlackBerry smartphone before performing this procedure.

My phone has an error that say device error 400 reset. it wont even let me use it or nothing

Blackberry 7100v - abort exception reset


I have a 7100x Blackberry and when I recently connected to my laptop for charging, my screen vanished and a white screen appears saying- Abort exception: Reset. How do I solve this?

If I reset the system shuts off...

Clearing all content ..how does one accomplish that task?


How does someone clear all the content of a blackberry? I got an error message saying abort exception reset, what can I do to get passed that or fix it?

Phone keeps turning on and off (had gotten multiple errors)


my blackberry 7100t was dropped and now the problem is its screen keeps on fading off and colours keep on changing again and again..the screen comes nack to normal if the screen backlight is switched off for around 5 min..it will work normally for sometime may be for ten fifteen min and the problem starts again..suggest some solution for this..and also if u could advice me from where i could get a new battery for the same phone..

You will have to reload the Unit software. If you can let me know what your carrier is, i can provide you with the links and instructions for obtaining the software and installing it.

Once the software has been re-installed, it should boot up fine.

if you take battery out and back in and the problem is not resolved, you may wish to take up skeet shooting.
