Electronic parts are relatively inexpensive... It is the labor of manufacturing that is expensive... NOW look at the label WHERE it is manufactured... See that? That should answer your question.

Instruments currently produced in Korea. Distributed by Saga Musical Instruments of San Francisco, California. Original Regal instruments produced beginning 1896 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Regal reappeared in Chicago, Illinois in 1908, possibly tied to Lyon and Healy (WASHBURN). U.S. production was centered in Chicago from 1908 through the late 1960s. I got a starcaster strat electric guitar by fender with a sn of CSS 080804415 what type is it and price on it I can't find it anywhere.

Starcasters are Fender's bottom of the line guitars that can be part of a low cost "Strat Pack" that includes a Squier amp. Chinese made, plywood, thinner than most other Fender electrics. Chinese made isn't the problem; the cheap parts are. The Made in China (not Crafted) Affinities 1996-1998 are outstanding guitars but still have cheap electronics and tuners but the bodies (1.75" alder) and amazing necks make them a little special and perfect for modding.

Having just purchased a new 3amp MicroCrush on ebay I am disappointed that it is impossible to get a 'clean' sound. I have tried every combination of switch settings on the amp and my Gretsch 5122...

You are using a Gretsch with this? This is a tiny amp useful for ONLY low levels as a practice amp. If you turn up the gain the unit will distort as the tiny speaker just can't handle high levels. An appropriate level would be if *********** could tolerate sitting alongside it. For the hum situation... does it hum with NOTHING plugged in? If so, probably the wrong adapter is being used. If it doesn't, then your guitar is probably picking up magnetic interference... major source of that type interference is "wall warts" power adapters. The only solution is to keep distance from the source to your guitar. Poor quality guitar cables can let in hum as well.

This problem has to do with a Hartke 3500 bass amp. I recently purchased a replacement UCISC (the part with the female plug and fuse box) and replaced it. I tried to be very careful putting all of the...

Easiest way to check is to measure the resistance between the ground pin of your cord and the chasis of the unit. It should be very low. That is the only critical one... Look at a receptacle. See one bllade is wide? That is the neutral. The other one is the HOT side. The HOT SIDE should go to either the fuse or the switch first in your unit. If you have those right the third wire will be right.
When powering up an amp there often is a noise until the amplifiers balance out. Very high quality and high power amps have a relay that disconnects the speaker until balance is reached... but the smaller amps do noot have this feature.

I use a Mackie 1604vlz board. I have Passive EV Speakers that I use a QSC power amp for. I want to add one Powered Subwoofer to this. How can I hook up without buying a crossover? Can I run out frome the...

You can, but I would not suggest it. Depending upon the input design of the powered sub, the highs might not get filtered out. Many subs assume that they are only receiving the lows. You are better off using a crossover between the mixer and the amp for highs and the powered sub for the lows. Please note that the crossover will give you much more control over the sound quality.

My jcm 2000 tsl 100 , doesn't produce the amount of gain i expect from it, i thought it gave as much as a mesa rectifier amp, i replaced the preamp tubes , but still, not enough gain

The sound level output is a true measure and unless you can compare specifications between units, you are probably listening to salesmen who want to sell you product.

The power level rating is OFTEN falsified and a LOT of the actual sound level performance depends upon the speaker used.

You should get a sound level meter to compare amps.

Remember to NEVER run more than 100 Db to avoid legal liability for hearing damage. I know several musicians who are nearly deaf now from being exposed to high levels too long. You can look up what the govt limits are now with Google.

The 2000 should EASILY reach the 100 Db level.

Fender ultra deluxe amp volume max out a number 7 volume control. will not get any louder

It is likely that the amp is flat topped at the 7 setting. When the amp is producing the maximum voltage output it is capable of, that is ALL you can get out of it... The numbers on the dial mean NOTHING and are only relative. If you have high output guitars you might find the maximum might only be 3 on the dial for example...
If you need it louder, get a bigger amp and speakers. You should ALSO get a sound meter and follow OSHA guidelines for sound exposure... I know several musicians that now are nearly deaf because of being exposed to high sound levels... their music careers are now gone as they can no longer hear well enough. You need to protect your hearing for the long term. Great musicians don't need loud, but quality and inovation in their music.

Sound output is heavily distorted.

Check following things:

1. The master volume control on the SR16 is at least half way up. Turn down the amp as needed. Running very low output of the SR16 and high amp gain is sure to get distortion.

2. Check power adapter is the original and is producing correct voltage.

3. Check that audio cable is high quality instrument cable and not consumer or speaker cable.

The BOSS FDR-1 produces a popping sound when played

This is a common problem with this pedal experienced by allot of people. My best advice would be to sell it and put the money toward a real Fender tube amp and some good pickups. If you're trying to go cheap check out some Line 6 modeling stuff.

David,   I dont like to be the bearer of bad news, but Behringer dissolved its service/repair center years ago.  In my opinion, this indicates little faith in the profitability of servicing Behringer products.  If the manufacturer wont even repair their own products, I wouldn't buy or use that brand if I had a choice.  Their products are good, WHEN THEY WORK.  They keep their prices low by using inexpensive, disposable quality components.  Most of their products aren't worth repairing.      Here are a few options to find your power supply.  Try Rogue music in New York, NY.  Here is the web address.

Here is another resource.  DBM pro Audio is an authorized Behringer Repair Center.  They are also in New York.  They will be able to tell you if your part is available from Behringer.  I'm very sorry to inform you of the inferiority of Behringer products.  I think the truth, though it hurts sometimes, is the best teacher.  P.S. if you ever visit DBM... next to the elevator, outside DBM's office is a one yard dumpster, it is always brimming with the carcasses of unrepairable Behringer mixing consoles.      Remember, when buying electronics, you get what you pay price = cheap components (and usually headaches down the line) Good luck!  I wish you success on finding your power supply.  Michael Mittelsdorf

See my profile for my qualifications. DBM does all my electronics repair.
