Question about Whirlpool Dryers

1 Answer

I have a Whirlpool Gas dryer LGR5620KQ1. The dryer spins but when I start it, it buzzes then clicks but no heat comes out. It only makes teh noice when I select the "heat" portion of the cycle. I can run the "Fluff" cycle and it does not make a noice.I have no clue what is going on. The only thing I have done was clean out the lent from the duct.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Gas dryer heats at first then take forever to dry, auto dry setting does not advance

If it works to begin with and fails afterwards then that can only be them solenoids mounted on the gas assembly. Here is my home video which shows how to check and replace:

I have a whirlpool gas dryer model LGR5620KQ1, I replaced the thermal fuse, still have no heat

When you push start look in the front lower cover and see if the glowing igniter glows. If it does then there is a flame sensor on the side of the burner that probably is bad.

Lgr5620kq1 dryer, heat comes on but does not stay on,

If you find that the dryer initially lights, then goes out and the igniter coil glows, then also goes out, it's the valve solenoid coil, about $25.

There is a temperature limit switch as well. This usually either fails entirely (no heat at all) or operates the burner out of the normal range (often showing up as clothes taking too long to dry).

A clogged dryer vent will cause problems with heat cycling, too.

Whirlpool dryer makes buzzing sound when flame should start.

Sounds like the valve is trying to open and the buzzing is the restriction of it opening. Coil is obviously correct, but actual solonoid is sticking. Replace it and see. If flame isnt detected, it will stop.

Dryer runs but doesn't heat up any ideas?

Most of the newer models have a safety on them if the dryer is pushed to close to the wall it will reduce the airflow and not let the heat ignite if you will to prevent a fire.If this is not the case then the heating element is defective. Hope this helps.

I have a whirlpool lgr5620kq1, the dryer comes on and gets hot but the drum does not spin. Any ideas, also if it is the belt where is the belt located?

remove the front and top and you can access the belt,if not the belt it could be the motor or the motor start capacitor

THE DRYER IS NOT GETTING HOT

Hi

Please check the following things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.
A page for checking gas dryers is here.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Dryer wont stay hot. it gets cold after first load

If dryer lights for a few minutes and will not stay lit, I believe the solenoid coils will need to be replaced. Click on link below, enter your model number lgr5620kq1 in model search feature and go to the dryer page it shows a breakdown view of your dryer. Also go to common solutions and look for gas dryer problems. I will also be here to help you, Sea Breeze
