Question about SYMA Toys industrial Replacement Blades Balance Bar Syma S105 Rc Helicopter

Open Question

My Syma S105 flies OK but will not retain a trim setting. It hovers straight with some setting of the trim knob, but as soon as I rotate left or right with the control lever, it continues to rotate in that direction after the lever is released. Often it is necessary to move the lever fully in the opposite directioin to correct the rotation, then it continues to rotate in the opposite direction. My son has a Syma S107 and it is a dream to fly by comparison, very stable and no trim problems at all. Is this a fault with this model or can it be corrected with some adjustments? Thank you in anticipation. Bruce James

SOURCE: my syma s107 will not

Assuming the battery is fully charged, the shaft could be dry, purchase a WD-40 pen, they have a magic marker type tip that dispenses controlled amounts of lube by pressing the tip on a surface to get a drop then use a toothpick to put a small amount on the rotor shaft top and bottom. I did that to mine and the shaft spins a lot smoother. Mine always lifted off with no problem, but it got the gitters and and would drop a few feet now and then. after I oiled the shaft the gitters went away. Give it a try. John.

SOURCE: the top rotor of my syma S107 is not working and

This is a counter rotational craft and thus there should be two electric engines turning one rotor each. The top rotor is probably connected to the lover gear, and thus this is where you should start looking.

When you turn your top rotor, do any of the gears move? Try holding the gear while turning the rotor also, if the rotor is spin able while holding the gear then your rotor shaft is damaged and the entire rotor should be replaced if possible.

Also, try turning both rotors and see if one spins heavier than the other. This should
also indicate damage to the construction, or the engine.

If everything is looking all right, and all the gears turns all the way to the engine, and everything looks tight, then it is a great possibility your engine is fried.

Many of the sets have easily changeable rotors and rotor shafts, and some also have easily changeable gears. However, most cheap crafts like this do not have easily changeable engines. I do not know this model, so this you have to investigate. Now, it is possible to do engine shifts by yourself even if the manufacturer does not provide spare parts, but I

SOURCE: my Syma S107 will not lift off the ground. what

Had the same problem - the rotors would spin but the helicopter would not take off. Finally tried tightening both screws on the piece just below the Balance bar. I tightened one of the screws about 1/8 turn, and now it works great.

SOURCE: My S107 does not hover

The upper shaft 'T' head has a broken pin in it (the part that holds the blades. You can flip the heli upside down and slightly rotate the blade housing back and forth and IT SHOULDN'T do that. Another way to instantly identify it is dislocate the rotor head links and the upper blade housing should instantly separate) It's made of plastic.

Anyway, It's also called the "T.B.E." Toilet Bowl Effect. It's not 'really' what's taking place, it's move of a cyclic issue but the effect looks like it's swirling in a toilet bowl... You need to replace the inner shaft basically on the upper rotor. They cost anywhere from $4-7.00 bucks. It took me about 2 days of researching and purchasing another one to finally figure it out. There was another website that says the balance bar is it or the gyro has gone bad; this simply isn't true.

Cheers!

We have a Syma x9 when we try to fly it only the back end raises up. Any ideas why?

Reset the horizontal gyros....reset them all.
Check your controller trims are centered,
if still doing the same, try swapping the rotors around (swap the ones that wont lift. they may be rotating wrong way.

My air hogs stinger since day one will not fly straight up.

Look for a trim setting or reference trim the users manual. It is usually a dial on the side of the remote.

We have lost our instruction manuals for our rc heicopters. is the small tail propellar supposed to spin? we can't get them to liftoff the main propellars seem to be working fine.

Sadly, Bob is incorrect here. In a coaxial helicopter, the main rotors spin in opposite directions, equalizing the centrifugal force and allowing the craft to hover without spinning, fine-tuned by the adjustment of the trim control. The counter-rotating main blades and internal gyroscopes provide a stable hover, while the tail rotor serves only to push the rear of the chopper up or down, providing the forward/backward thrust. If you are not moving the right joystick, you tail rotor should be stationary, or perhaps moving lazily from the wash of the main rotors. Sounds like a charging issue. What type of charger are you using? Also, Li/Po batteries are not meant to be fully discharged. Fully draining a Li/Po too many times, ESPECIALLY when they are new, will ruin them. Luckily the batteries on an 032 are easily replaceable. Available on Amazon and many other online retailers, and replaced in about 1 minute with only a small screwdriver. With a new Li/Po, charge them FULLY with the correct charger, and always stop the flight as soon as you are having to give it full power to maintain altitude. Also CRUCIAL is you MUST MUST MUST let the battery rest and cool for after a flight, wait a good 10 minutes BEFORE you connect the heli to the charger, and another 10 minute cool down after charging before you fly.
Hope this helps

My syma s032 now won't hover consistently but moves up and down slowly of its own accord. I can compensate by continually moving the joystick. I did have a couple of crashes though they were...

Could possibly be weak remote batteries?
Also, the s032 has an incremental throttle (you should feel very light "clicks" when moving left joystick {throttle} up or down) that can sometimes make steady hovering a challenge. Syma helicopters are fairly durable, but crashes can make them kind of shaky. Be sure to quickly throttle down fully when you are about to have any kind of blade strike or crash. If you crashed outdoors, check to make sure no blades of grass or other foreign items are in near the gears, and check the shaft for anything wrapped around it that might be slowing one or both main rotors. (even a stray long hair can muck things up) Is it exhibiting any other symptoms?
Still getting similar flight time?

Hope this helps, let me know.

Heli max hicro helicopter just keeps spinning in circles

Spinning is caused by one of the main propellers rotating faster than the other. If both propellers are secured tightly to their drive shafts, the spin control knob on the remote control can be used to stop the spin. However, if one prop is slipping with respect to the other, the spin control knob will not fix the problem.
I've found that the set screws holding the propellers to the drive shafts tend to loosen after a while. If one prop is a bit loose and the other is tight, the relative slippage will cause the helicopter to spin.
To check, turn off helicopter power and manually rotate each propeller separately, watching the nylon gears in the body. If the propeller is moving and its drive shaft gear isn't, the propeller is slipping because its set screws are not applying enough pressure on the propeller's drive shaft.
Carefully tighten the set screw and the problem should be fixed. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN, or the plastic threads for the set screw will be stripped and the propeller assembly will be ruined.

Cannot adjust r/c helicopter rotation

You can adjust the trim under the stick on the transmitter and/or the trim screw on the helicopter. If this is still not enough the motors will need to replaced so power matches.
