Question about Microsoft Computers & Internet

2 Answers

I have two separate drives, Win7 on the C drive and winXPsp3 on the D drive. I need to preform an in-place upgrade of my XP drive because it won't boot. I can do this but I don't know my XP pro password. The password I entered is incorrect. Can you help me out please? Either tell me how I can retrieve my xp password or tell me how to get xp to boot. When I use magic jellybean to get my xp password by pressing the HIVE button, I get an error saying I don't have permission to access it. I can get into Win7 fine but the drive with XP is the problem.

Nope, sorry. I was able to boot into safe mode of Win7 and I was already on an administrator account. I tried using magic jellybean to find my xp password and I still said I didn't have the rights to.

I couldn't boot into safe mode with WinXP>

I can't recover my microsoft word program after upgrading to Windows 7 from XP, can you help?

When you installed Windows 7 as your O/S, you had to format your Hard drive.

If you saved XP it will be in Partion A or B on your hard drive.

But it will only be there if you saved it when installing WIN7.

Go to Start, Computer, and select drive C (usualy) there you will find your XP programmes.

GOOD LUCK.......

I upgrade my laptop from xp to windows 7 and didnt find G drive not able to access g drive

First of all make sure the g drive isn't a removable drive(such as a gig stick or external drive). Next, the file system on the g drive may not be compatible with the win7 version that you have(either 32 or 64 bit version). If it is an external drive you may need to go to the manufacturers website to download the latest driver for your particular version of windows

You have not told us just when you get the BSOD. I would set the Win7 hard drive to be the first boot drive and just use the other to store data.
If you have a need to use both WIN7 and XP, I suggest you use Oracle's Virtual Box and run Win XP within it.
If you are getting the BSOD using just the Win7 drive without the other drive hooked up, you'll need to boot from a Win7 DVD and tell it to repair the system

I have WINXPSP3 on my PC and it won't find the driver for the GSA-h21n model DVD-RW drive that can with the DELL computer. How do I reinstall this drive?

You should not need a driver for that unless you are running an OS older than windows XP.

It should be plug-and-Play (power down first of course)

As far as light scribe, that depends on the CD/DVD buring software to support.

Hope this helps.
