Question about Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote with Color Touch Screen

1 Answer

I can't get the TV to mute. The AV receiver mutes, but the TV won't. I can't get the volume to go down on the TV either.

Go back through your list of codes and try all codes for you TV model or allow the remote to scan for the code. You need the booklet that came with your remote.

We did not get a booklet, but we did download a pdf manual. I've let the remote try to set itself up again, but I still can't get the TV to mute along with the AV receiver.

I am going to send you backto the support site for your specific remote, where you can get support in several areas. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/440/6441 (copy and paste this address)

You can contact support directly and you can also look at the faq where you may find your answer. This is an expensive and rather complicated remote, and you may require an update for your particular TV which would also be available at this site.

I am sure that you will solve your problem by using the support that Logitech offers. Thank you for using FixYa.

Is there a "tape monitor" button by chance? If this is turned on, it will mute your audio as well.

Suddenlink tivo apex tv code

Hi- My name is Shannon and I am with Suddenlink. The SL-TiVo remote can be programmed to control the TV and one other A/V device using these steps:

1)
From TiVo Central, select Settings & Messages > Settings > Remote, CableCARD, & Devices > Remote Control.

2) Highlight Part 1: TV power, volume, and mute and press SELECT.

3) The DVR displays a list of television brands. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW buttons and the CHAN DOWN and CHAN UP buttons on the TiVo remote to highlight your TV brand and then press SELECT.

4) The TV Remote Codes screen appears. Follow the instructions on this screen to enter a code into your remote control. If the first code does not work, repeat the instructions to enter the second remote control code, and so forth, until you find a code that works. The remote is now programmed to operate the TV.

5) If also programming to control volume & mute on an A/V receiver for surround sound; Highlight Part 2: A/V volume and mute and press SELECT.

6) The DVR displays a list of audio/video receiver brands. Use the UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW buttons and the CHAN DOWN and CHAN UP buttons on the TiVo remote to highlight your receiver brand and then press SELECT.

7) The AV Remote Codes screen appears.

Follow the instructions on this screen to enter a code into your remote control. If the first code does not work, repeat the instructions to enter the second remote control code, and so forth, until you find a code that works. The remote is now programmed to operate the receiver.

The TiVo remote will now turn the TV on/off and switch inputs and adjust the volume and mute the audio on the receiver.

The receiver is muted when playing in tuner or cd the volume is not coming through the speakers. We can hear it muted when turning up to max its very low. Lost instruction manual can you help. I think my...

I can't find a manual either. Can I assume you really mean the sound is muted for EVERY source, not just tuner and CD?

I'd guess it's either MUTED or a Tape Monitor is active. Turn the volume down, select FM as the source, tune a station and use it as your test source. Look around for indicators that give a clue.

NEVER troubleshoot anything with the volume control turned way up. You'll blow up or damage the speakers and your hearing right after you discover and correct the misplaced control.

"muting" shows up the screen and I no longer get volume, can not the muting off as I can not see where I would change that setting.

Are you sure it's not the TV telling you that it's muted? I went down the tubes on that one myself.

The receiver's Mute can be defeated by just rotating the volume knob upward. Ditto with TV's.

See Chapter 10 here:

for instructions on how to program the AUX setting on your remote and how to set your remote to adjust the receiver volume while controlling the Dish receiver.

Yamaha RX-V793 flashing light on volume control and no volume

Per Yamaha support page: The volume light on my Yamaha AV receiver is flashing, what does this mean ? The "MUTE" function on your remote control has been activated. The reason that you can still hear a very low sound is that the muting circuit within your stereo is not a full mute, but rather a -20dB mute. To deactivate the "MUTE" function, simply press the "MUTE" button on your remote control. (Make sure the volume control is turned down to avoid damage to your system.) If you misplace or lose your remote control, you will have to purchase a new remote control unit, as there is no duplicate function on the front panel of your stereo. Unplugging the stereo will not deactivate the muting circuit, as the microprocessor "remembers" if the muting circuit was active prior to being turned off or unplugged. If you need to purchase a remote control, you may order one directly from our parts office. You may reach them by dialing (714) 522-9888 from 8 am to 3 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday through Friday. If you have any other questions, please contact our customer service department by dialing (800) 292-2982 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
