See if you can wedge a firm plastic tool with an edge in the crevasse of the loading tray, now as you hit eject pull down with the tool to see if you can release the mechanism but go easy. The only other option is to take the entire unit apart to get at the discs.

Hello, Usually on the front or the side of the DVD player on the DV compartment drawer is a hole. Get a paper clip and expand it. Place the paper clip end into the hole. This should release the drawer. Remove the second disc and push the button in to play the one you would like to play.
This should work. If not, please refer to the manufacture's manual.
Hope this works for you, Dana

Cant open dvd drawer

Sometimes DVD player drawers get stuck closed because the disc inside isn't seated properly. At other times the player may have another problem. The first step in discovering if it is the disc or another issue is to remove the disc. Most DVD players have a secret eject button. It allows you to open the drawer when a disc gets stuck and cannot be ejected normally.
For this you'll need a standard size paperclip.

  1. Unfold the paperclip and make it as straight as possible.
  2. Look closely at your DVD player . Push the tip the paper clip into the small hole on the tray cover on the front of the Toshiba. The hole is on the right side of the cover.
  3. Press inward gently with the paperclip until you feel a slight resistance, then continue pushing to engage the internal eject button. The tray should pop open partway.
  4. Gently pull the drawer until it's fully retracted. Be careful not to pull too far.
  5. Remove your disc from the drive.
  6. Before you reinsert another disc, use the remote and/or buttons on the player to close the door, and reopen it. You can also press carefully with your fingers. If you cannot open/close the drawer normally at this point, do not put in a new disc until you have repaired the problem.

Dvd "drawer" will not close.

Hello,

The reason the drawer will not shut is because there is a problem on the mechanism that opens and closes the disc tray.

To fix this,

Get the appropriate screwdriver, unscrew the cover, you'll see a mechanism by the side of the opening, you'll see a rubber that controls the opening and closing of the door.

Try to replace the mechanism and it will be in good condition again.

take care

LG RH1757 (80 GB) DVD Recorder / HDD Recorder Drawer keeps opening Drawer keeps opening and closing and won't read discs! Rassie from Cape Town South Africa

Could be a timing issue with the tray mechanism - possible that somebody has given the tray "a shove" to make it close instead of using the open/close button and has put the timing out.or a worn tray loading belt

Lg rc797t dvd drawer will not close consistently

I have a Compaq Presario desktop running XP Media Center. The DVD tray would open on power up, and kept openinig when pushed shut.

I discovered that the tray would frequently remain closed when I held open the flap (the flap with the open button). A few days after discovering this, I got to add some more tracks to my MP3 player - I only mention this intermediate stage in case it is material in curing the problem, as the next thing that happened was a power failure whilst the PC was on. Since then, the CD/DVD drive has behaved perfectly. I did have a temporary problem with AVG INternet Security being unable to load the necessary DLLs to run correctly in MS Outlook 2003, even complaining of a corrupt installation, but this dissappeared after a proper restart and AVG update.

So,
Compaq users: try holding the flap open when you attempt to close the tray.
Generally: with PC running and all applications closed, switch the power off at the wall socket.

SONY DVD Player refuses to load DVDs

What you might of done is pushed the dvd tray to close it, so its out slightly.Come across it a couple of times. all i did was, open the tray & before it started to close, switched off the power. pull the tray until it opens fully(dont yank it). when its fully open, try to pull it very slightly more. plug it back in & let it go back its self, if it doesn't. push it. all thats happened is its just out slightly. messing about with it like this will sort it im sure. let us know how you get on. martindean71@googlemail.com

The drawer on the unit won't open.

When the DVD player is plugged into power and switched on, and won't power up (nothing shows up in the front display panel), the power supply unit in the DVD is blown. the noise that player made was probably a capacitor going off. You will have to get the unit repaired.
