Try cleaning the air filter. Odds are the motor is getting to hot and it has a safety that stops the motor from over working.

Do you also find the milk seems to be warm rather than hot?
If so the main water heater is not working correctly (there are two in most Delonghi machines like this). The horse-shoe shaped one is the one used by the milk frothier.
In many cases it is the thermal sensor that is faulty (open circuit). Normally at room temperature they should measure 120K ohms in resistance. These can become intermittently faulty so you need to measure the resistance when the fault actually occurs so is not an easy job if you have no technical training.

Possible weakness in the thermostat which make the heaters cut off at a earlier state. So try to check the machine for any loose connection to the lines, the heaters or else the switch and thermostat must be looked into .

Make certain that the heating element is properly seated WHEN THE OVEN IS COLD! When you put "current" through wires and heating elements, they vibrate. Zip tie the wires together outside the oven cavity.

Efficency with Oil Column heating

because it operates on room air temperature, if this is the only means of heat to this room, leaving it on would be more economical thus keeping the rise in air temp time less=less time it works hard to match what you desire. but if not only source of heat no. time to heat room would be almost the same thus you would save what you used during the day due to fluctuations in room temps between time your furnace would kick on and off.

Delonghi "the incredible heat machine" started smoking

Hi Coyote,

I don't know about your specific heater, but, as someone who has a vast electronics background, things that heat tend to give off some fumes. Many electronic componets are LIGHTLY coated with an oil product to provide humidity protection, while the product may sit in a warehouse for years. Typically, such protection, upon being heated, will disperse in the first (maybe) hour of use. but, it could be more, I guess.
BUT, fumes should never be taken lightly. FUMES SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN LIGHTLY!!!. FUMES MAY KILL YOU!!
How I handle it is...if the fume is noxious, so as to irritate your nose, or eyes, etc. IT IS BAD!!!

Nevertheless, if I were in your boots, I would take the unit outdoors, and let it run on 'HIGH' for about a 1/2 hour, or so. After it cools down, take it indoors and try it again. If it is still fuming, write the manufacturer a "fuming" letter.

Good Luck,
Papou1

Re:Electric Convection oven does not heat up. Convection fan works, light works.

It is probably and electrical service issue. If this is a North American unit, it uses two electrical circuits to provide power. You must find and reset the breakers and check that the wiring is operating as intended. Less likely: It could also be a manufacturing defect. DeLonghi uses screw compression connections on some products. Sometimes, they don't work well.
