Gateway laptop computer screen is upside down and can not use mouse

Shortcut Key To Flip The Screen In the Windows TO 180 Degree..
The shortcut is (or should be, read below**)
for normal windows : Ctrl + Alt + <Up arrow> (or shift+alt+<up arrow>)
and for 180 deg it is : Ctrl + Alt + <Down arrow> (or shift+alt+<down arrow>)
However, you should know that these are default shortcuts for
Intel Extreme Graphics Controller, and you can change them. To
check / change or disable these keys go to control panel->Intel Extreme Graphics->Hot Keys.
**sometimes the shortcuts do not work. This happens when you have not enabled rotation
feature in Display Settings under Intel Graphics Media Accelerator media. You need to
enable rotation in order to be able to Rotate / Flip your windows screen upside down / 90 / 180 / 270 degrees.

Mouse: with mouse, do you mean a usb mouse or the mousepad? if the mousepad isnt working, check ur "F" keys for an icon that looks like a mousepad icon. Then press the "Fn" key + the corresponding mousepad icon key and see if it works.

My USB plug in thing for the mouse broke. Does anyone know where i can buy a new one?

It is called a dongle. To be perfectly honest, the price of a wireless mouse has sugnifacantly decreased, and they extremely affordable. I have seen them below 10 bucks. It is also possible to purchase a mouse that needs no dongle...some are bluetooth (if your laptop has that feature) and others are wifi capable. Of course the least expensive will be with the USB Dongle. Hope this helps.

I have a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3000 and i cant get it to connect. i have pushed every connect button in everyway i can think of and it still wont work

There are two possible reasons for this.
1. You may be having an issue with your USB receiver. The receiver may be not be seated properly in the USB slot or the slot you've plugged it into isn't working well with your receiver. Try moving the receiver to a couple of different USB ports and try reconnecting.
2. Your mouse may not be operating correctly. I think the simplest reason for this is that the battery is dead, which is extremely common when using wireless keyboards/mice. Check to make sure the batteries are fully charged.

My usb ports stopped recognizing my plug in's. They work for power but my wireless mouse and iPhone when plugged in won't work now.

I have a similar problem with my A135-S2286. I noted that the mouse pad area got hot, but I found it was the Wifi card. After getting hot, the computer stops recognizing USB devices and finally the computer gets stuck.

Try turning off your Wifi and please let me know if it works.

'Hot-plugging' accessories doesn't work well all the time but you might try reinstalling the USB driver; it may be slightly ill. Windows like to keep us on our toes by trashing drivers now and then.

No ps2 mouse port and will not work with usb to ps2 adapter says unknown usb device and does not install it

Well I think you need to buy a USB mouse instead. This will be less hassle on your part. Still, if you want to fix this, locate the mouse's model and manufacturer and then post back in here.

Spyder mouse won't work

I had a similar problem. I corrected by performing a manual connect as listed in the manual that came with the mouse.
Manual reconnect:
1. Plug in the receiver.
2. Turn on the mouse.
3. Press the button on the receiver.
4. Press the connect button on the mouse once within five seconds of pressing the button on the receiver.

This worked for me, and the mouse has worked fine since.

If this doesn't work. The manual suggested taking the batteries out of the mouse for 20 seconds and unplugging the receiver, then repeat the steps above.
If that doesn't work. reboot the computer and repeat the steps above.

Hope this helps.

Why wont my mouse work on my pc but wiil on other

Possibly your PC does not support USB 2.0 and depending on your chipset you can update the chipset and/or BIOS. Of course this may be the most extreme explanation, but it wouldn't hurt to start here. Have you tried plugging into different ports? Or unplugging other devices while the KB is plugged in?
