Question about Cobra 29 LTD CB Radio
If you're going to replace a 12VDC incandesant light bulb with an LED, you MUST connect a series resistor in line with the LED and observe polarity as LED's can only be hooked up one way. Depending on the size and color of the LED, An average size red orange yellow or green one for instance, you would use between a 1000, (1Kohm), and a 1200, (1.2Kohm) resistor. These LED's usually require about 1.7VDC at 20 Ma. There are some of the newer white LED's that require feom 3 to 6VDC in which case you'd use a lower value. The blue ones that are somewhat popular now I've had no experience with so get a spec. sheet if you use these.

LED's do matter how they're installed.
Test your LED leads w/ a batt. first before soldering in you 29 board.
Look at you existing leads from you burnt out bulb. One red?
Then its your Pos terminal. when your LED lights up on your Batt. test you'll know which one is the POS/NEG legs. then resolder it into your board.
