Question about Sanyo Car CD Changers

Car stereo sanyo fxd mp690

Hi I have a sanyo car stereo fxd mp690. I am unable to get it going again since my battery went flat. I can not find my user manual, but I am pretty sure I never saw a code in it anywhere when I first read it. The electrician that put the stereo in said that I will definately need a code to get it going again.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks, Bronnie.

I have not had to use a code when battery disconnected from CD, just had to retune station memories when reconnected.

It won't wont eject or play cd's

Hi.

Try pressin repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

Regards.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

I have a stereo of Cavalier 2002 but it shows ''LOC'' in the display. Can somebody help me to clear this lock. What could be bad on it?

your stereo is locked. your battery drained and clock memory was lost to radio. a simple fix can be found on this forum but they charge 4.99 or so to help. they dealer will cost 50 + so 5 bucks is worthit.

i am sorry you had to go threw this. positive side you will have the code so it will not be a problem in the future for you.

they radios of modern cars employ so called anti theft mechanisms, but in reality they are designed to cost us money to get things working normal again. this is by the way the only device on your car that is lockable by the power failure

good luck with it. and a little tip: they sell a 9 volt battery maintainer used by professional stereo installers to keep clock memory voltage on the radio so this doesn't happen when you need to disconnect your battery again. i would highly suggest getting one. they are fairly cheap and will prvent you from having any major issues in the future when you need to replace or disconnect your cars battery again.

Sony car stereo

You can first of all try exchanging the radio for a new one, and if that's not the problem the only other factor that would cause you to lose power is a fuse or a ground. Try grounding your radio to a different location, somewhere that there would be no doubt that it is grounded ( preferably to a solid piece of metal somewhere near the driver-side door or your steering column). Next make sure that your power wire does not have any kinks in it or that it is properly covered so that it does not touch any other wires that would cause it to ground out as well. Hope the info helps my brother GOD Bless You.

Code for car stereo

These security codes are protected legally, as they serve anti-theft purposes. You will need to contact the manufacturer, a dealer, or an authorized repair/service center to request assistance with obtaining the necessary code. They will also likely ask for some proof of purchase to ensure the legitimacy of the transaction.

Please post back if you need further assistance, otherwise thank you for using and rating FixYa!

CDX changer has power but doesn't want to eject after flat battery

i resolved this myself in the end.
I unplugged the audio & power cables whilst the stereo and engine was running.
Then plugged back in.
I turned the engine off and stereo off as well.
I then unplugged audio and power again from the back of the CDX, left it unplugged for 10 minutes whilst the engine was still off.
I then plugged the leads back in and turned the engine on. the stereo recognised the CDX, but stayed on displaying "CD Checking". I switched to radio for 20 seconds, turned back to CDX and it selected CD 1 and has been good ever since.

I'm rather pleased with myself!
