Question about Televison & Video
LG might be correct, but try these suggestions first;
1.) Change the batteries in the remote, and make sure they are properly installed; positive (+) to (+), negative (-) to (-).
2.) Take remote control to local TV service center, have them check it out.

Are batteries installed with correct polarity (+ to +, - to -)?
Correct remote operating mode set: TV, VCR etc.?
The light at its side
Illuminates the remote control
