You probably have to resynch them. turn off the power button on console, then unplug from wall for 5 seconds. plug back in and turn on console. when the health and safety displays on the screen open the front of the console and press and hold the red synch button for at least 15 seconds. this clears all previous synchs. open the back of the wii remote and press and release the red button by the batteries. then press and release the synch button on the console. this should re synch the remote. repeat for any other remotes.

Bought a new will remote but it doesn't work.

Check the battery levels. You can do this by pressing A. If all 4 lights flash on and off, your batteries are completely charged. 3 lights, 2 lights, and 1 light signify 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 battery levels. If lights don't flash, replace/insert batteries.
If it's not working with your console, open up the battery cover and the flip lid on the front of the console. (If it's a Wii U, you don't need to open the flip lid.) In both places, there is a red button. (On Wii U, it's next to the flip lid.) Press both red buttons at the same time. (Your Wii will need to be powered on.) The Wii Remote will continuously flash lights until it either receives a sync signal or about a minute has passed; whichever comes first. If you've pressed the buttons and your remote is still flashing, press the button on the console again. Once the remote is synced, the flashing lights will turn into a single light; the placement of the light will vary depending on how many remotes are signed into the Wii.
*Note* Once your remote is synced, you simply need to press A to sign back in if your remote turns off.
If all of the above steps were followed, and your remote is still not functioning, contact the manufacturer. Brands such as Nintendo and Nyko are usually okay, but generics like GameStop aren't the best. It's often easiest to return it and buy a different brand.

The controler lights flash but wont turn on?

Have you tried syncing the Wii remote?
To sync the Wii remote, turn on your Wii.
Then open the back of the Wii remote (where you put the batteries) and press the SYNC button.
Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii. Press the SYNC button.
The controller should turn on.

If your Wii remote still doesn't turn on, visit support.nintendo.com, or call 1-800-255-3700 for Wii assistance.

Wii controllers not working, new batteries, but will not move on screen...

You need to synchronise the remotes. Take off the battery covers on the wii remotes and open up the flap on the front of the wii where you can put a memory card in. Press the red button that is above the memory card slot and at the same time press the red button that is above where the batteries go on each remote. The wii remotes should flash and eventually give a solid light on either the first or second led at the bottom of the wii remotes. When this happens both remotes are synced.

Our wii remote wont turn on. we tried new batteries and all it does is the blue lights flashes and turns off. What is wrong and how can we fix it

Sounds like it's not synchronizing with the infrared bar. That might've come loose. Double check to make sure that's plugged into the Wii. If that's not connected the Wii Remote will not stay on because it's not connecting.

Wii Problem, the remote

make sure a combination of the 4 blue lights at the bottom of the remote are on (but not flashing, mind you). if they're not, this means that your wii remote isn't connected to your nintendo wii system yet. if when you press a button and none of the lights turn on at all, this means that there are no batteries in your wii remote. if it flashes, this means its trying to connect to your wii system. you might have to troubleshoot this a little bit. try to aim it at the bar that recognizes the wii signal (a separate piece that comes with the wii system).
hope this helps ;-)

Cursor does not appear

exchange it

    Cursor not appearing
Please note that our experience shows that this troubleshooting is best performed using only one (1) Wii Remote at a time.
  • Some games do not use the cursor feature of the Wii Remote; Make sure the game you are attempting to play uses the cursor by reading the game's instruction manual. You can also exit out of the game to return to the Channel Menu and use the Wii Remote to see the cursor. If the cursor still does not appear, continue with the steps below.

  • Trying to use multiple Wii Remotes in the Mii Channel or Photo Channel? These Channels only allow the Wii Remote designated as "Player 1" to function.

  • Verify that the Wii Remote's pointer lens is free of obstructions and contamination (stickers, heavy smudges, etc.). The pointer lens is the tinted rectangle at the end of the Wii Remote.

  • Check the battery power level by turning off the Wii console, then opening the battery cover of the Wii Remote. Press and release the red "SYNC" button to check battery strength. The number of lights flashing indicates the Wii Remote's battery strength. Four flashing lights indicates full strength. Our experience has shown that as your battery strength decreases to one (1) or less lights flashing, the cursor may not appear. For troubleshooting, if possible, try using fresh batteries so that all four lights illuminate. For guidelines on using batteries, please click here. If after inserting brand new batteries, you are still seeing less than all four LEDs flash, then your Wii Remote will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair information.

  • Is the Wii Remote properly synced?
Press the POWER button on the Wii Remote to see if the Wii console powers on.
    • If it does, the Wii Remote is synced with the system. Please skip to the next section.
    • If the power doesn't come on, power on the system manually and try syncing the Wii Remote.
      • If the Wii Remote will not sync, there is likely a problem with the Wii Remote. Please click here for repair information.
      • If the Wii Remote will sync and the cursor still does not appear, try another Wii Remote if possible.
        • If at least one Wii Remote is working, there is likely a problem with the first Wii Remote and it will need to be repaired. Please click here for repair information.
        • If you have only one Wii Remote, or none that are working, please continue troubleshooting.

  • Make sure that the Wii Remote is being used between 3' and 10' directly in front of the TV and that there are no bright light sources affecting the Wii Remote's operation (review Game Play Guidelines for more information), and that the Sensor Bar is placed properly (see Sensor Bar setup).
  • Check the cord on the Sensor Bar for any frayed wires or kinks, and verify that the Sensor Bar is free of obstructions.
  • Check the button functionality, and that the Sensor Bar is operating correctly, by accessing the Wii Main Menu. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to scroll side-to-side through the Wii Channel screens.
    • If you are able to scroll with the "+" and "-" buttons, but the cursor is not appearing, then there is likely a problem with the Sensor Bar. Please click here for additional Sensor Bar information.
    • If there is no response, there is likely a problem with the Wii Remote. Please click here for repair information.
