Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...
First, when the refrigerator is running, open the freezer door and hold in the light switch so the freezer light goes out. You should be able to hear the freezer (evaporator) fan running. If it is running, then you most likely have a problem with the air damper. It is a motorized door in the very upper left side, back corner, of the fresh foods section. The door needs to be open for air to flow into the refrigerator section. If you place your hand near the vent holes at the upper refrigerator section and the freezer fan is running, FF section warm, you should feel cold air entering. If not, the damper door may have broken. It is not real easy to get at to replace, but that is where your problem may be. Be sure to check the freezer fan first, as a non-working icemaker may point in that direction.
my Matytag msd2456dew fridge fan is running, no ice bulid up on coils in freezer section, but no cold air to freeze anything in freezer section or cold air in fridge section. what can be the problem?

Either the evap fan has a problem, or the defrost system has failed. You should never see frost in the freezer section as the defrost sensor should sense that the coils need to be defrosted before that much frost accumulates.
Unplugging to clean out helped because the frost got a chance to melt away.
If you find the evap motor is running, then the things to check are the defrost sensor, the defrost timer, and the defrost heater.
Warm fridge cold freezer problem fixed In the freezer section there was a one screw removable panel which housed a four bladed rotary fan. One blade had broken off adn was jamming the fan from rotating. Once the broken part was removed the fan was free to rotate, but out of balance, but it did get the fridge going again. It took about one minute to replace the fan once a spare was aquired. Now I understand how it works, if one side of your fridge freezer is not working it can only be the air movement or lack of it Robert Robert
We had a warm fridge and super cold freezer.....we unplugged for about 20 minutes and the fridge started to cool down again.... but only for a few days then back to warm.
We ended up unplugging and "defrosting" the whole unit for 24+ hours ....Now it works perfectly again.
I think it happens when one or both of the doors is not shut or sealed all the way and engine works too hard and "freezes" up the fans or some other part of the system.......I am just happy I did not have to buy a new fridge.
Sounds like you might have a condensation problem. Is the fan in your freezer working? If not it's not circulating the cold air. If it is you might have frost on the lower rear wall of your freezer meaning its not defrosting like it should and restricting your air flow. Last but not least you have a damper door in the upper left corner of your fridge that allows the cold air from your freezer into the fridge to cool it, that might not be opening up. Any one of these things would cause your water problem and a warm fridge section
sounds like the evaporator fan in the freezer is not moving the air. also there is an air damper door at the top center of the fridge that controls air flow from the freezer to the fridge. check those two components and you will find your problem.
