How to run REader Rabbit without CD-Rom? I can copy the disk contents to the HDD... but then all it does is error.. is there any way to use my software on my ePC when travelling without taking the CD's...

I have a (partial & ugly) solution here.

First, copy the entire cd contents into a folder on the computer. e.g. "C:\Program Files\The Learning Company\Reader Rabbit Reading 6-8 full cd copy" Then run the installer from \INSTALL\SETUP32.EXE

DO NOT delete the files which you copied off the cd.

What this does is it installs the program as if it installed off the cd, and creates initialization files which look to check that a certain file exists **in the location that you installed from** - You have fooled the launcher into thinking that the cd is in place.

However I am still not completely satisfied, because every time you launch the program, Windows 7 requires administrator privileges (so my kids have to come and ask me for my password every time).

I have a Marantz CDR632 and I am recording sermons for a church. After I am finished and completed the finalization process I try to use in a duplicator and it gives an error message that it is a problem...

We have the same problem with our CD duplicator at our church. When the duplicator finishes it always shows 'fail' but the copied CD-R appear to have copied correctly and play on other players.

It looks like from error codes that yoi may have a hardware error, or a disk format problem, if this is only burning problem you have on pc and it worked before, then uninstall and reinstall Nero, info gathered from here,

Copying pictures to cd

You need to close the CD from your computer, or finalize it. When you do that, you write a "contents" table that allows the reader to know where the files are.

Trying to finalize a cd

Hi, This is just a guess but it may be worth a try. I have heard that Audio CD-Rs, which are the only media this machine will record onto, are famous for being finicky about being played on different kinds of CD readers. My suggestion is that you "rip" the Audio CD-R's content to your computer (in .wav or .MP3 format) and then make a copy of your album onto a reagular CD-R which is more likely to be played on any CD reader. Not sure if this'll work for you but it's worth a shot. Hope this helps.
