I agree though I have seen large amounts of spyware/adware & malware also rootkits cause this also. If you can get the computer booted in safe mode it might be worth running spyware/adware remover s if you have them and they are those few that will run in safe mode. If this is possible and it helps, immediately run them again upon normal boot. Also, if your anti-virus software is equipped with a 'boot scan' option, most of these that do will allow you to activate this feature while in safe mode (this is the type of anti-virus scan that reboots your computer and scans it while it's rebooting.). In addition, if you have any type of registry scanner running it might stave off the problem long enough for you to find out whats causing it after booting normally. Hope it helps.

This can be the product of a system files corruption, or possibly a virus that is causing your pc to reinstall itself (in a way at least) Although I haven't seen something like this in quite a while. When you boot up the PC try to get into safe mode by pressing F8 until you get the boot menu, if you can get into safe mode you should be ale to diagnose your problem or use something like system restore to attempt reverting the situation. You can also insert the original Windows CD and do a repair install, although you will need to reload your updates, this can have many benefits performance wise.

The procedure is actually correct. but if your computer is fast you may miss it. try this, upon turning the computer on, start pressing the CTRL+F11 immediately. if you have reformated your HDD then most likely you've lost the recovery partition for the PC Restoration.

COPPY ALL DATA FOR PASTE FROM ANOTHER DRIVE TO ANOTHER AND FORMAT DRIVE ONE AFTER ONE . YOU DELETE THE RECYLER (IF NTFS) AND SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION
NOW RESTART GO FOR SAVE MODE AND RESTORE THE PRIVIOUS DATE IF NOT RUN SHOULD INSTALL THE OS AGAIN .

My computer starts to load and when it gets to the blue windows xp screen it stops and does not load into windows.

Turn off your computer by holding down the power button (10 sec.)
Turn the computer back on and Hold down the F8 button at the top of your keyboard, until the start up menu shows, Then select "Last known Configuration that worked"
If that does work you can repeat the steps and try system restore if you have it enabled.
If still unable to load you would need service, or to reinstall windows

My PC doesn't load

Restart computer. Watch closely at the bottom of the screen for an F command.

This F command will allow to enter setup.

When computer is loading, start pressing F12 repeatedly until setup is opened.

When setup opens, you'll see a file menu that runs across the top of the screen. It will start from the left and move to the right - press F9. When prompted, select "restore default settings". Move to each file menu and press F9 and set "default settings".

When you come to the Exit menu, do the same thing, then select the Exit Menu, and choose the "Exit Saving Settings" option.

Once it exits, it will automatically restart and begin the loading process into Windows (or your operating system).

If the OS does not load, you will need to re-enter setup: under the file menu, search for an option that will allow you to enable a second F command which should be F5 or F10. Once this is done, go to exit, and select "exit saving settins".

The computer will begin loading, but you will want to restart the computer - watch again at the bottom of the screen for the new F command - remember what it is when you are in setup, and begin pressing it as before with the F12 command - the F5 (F10) will bring you to an option menu for starting the computer - select the "start in safe mode" option.

If the computer does not load in safe mode, you will need to format the hard drive and re-install the Operating System.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Everytime I turn my computer on it will freeze

You have a corrupted registry, try rebooting and depressing the F8 key to access safe mode..you will see a black and white screen with boot choices.

Choose "best last boot config" reboot and hope for the best.

If still no go reload windows with the disk and choose option "Reload windows WITHOUT FORMAT". It will replace windows and retain all you saved files. HOWEVER, you will need to reload all other programs, eg Office suite, games etc

Did you reinstall windows, or install another operating system? Have you placed your windows disks in your computer recently? To add files or possibly drivers?

This is in your ROOT boot up .ini file, which shows that loading screen, also there is an option that has blocked shutting down your computer. I can help you get to shutdown, is this a laptop, is this a home computer? Did you recently place this unit in the shop. All of these answers do matter for me to give you assistance.

Help!!!!!

when you turn on the computer, press F8 before the xp logo shows up. then choose "Safe Mode".
if widows loads ok, a window will come up. click no to restore to a previous date.

If windows does NOT load, you have to re-install windows. Put the CD that came with your computer and run the setup.
NOTE: if you want to keep your files, do not choose any options that format your drive.

Dell dem 3000 will not turn on

What you need to do Is to take the Operating System reinstall disk that you got with your computer and boot from that. Once you get to the main screen press the option for a repair. Follow instructions on the screen. If you need more detail on how to do this just tell me and I will help.
