I gather that you have checked the bulb with a meter to see if it is bad. If it is xenon high intensity then they have a short lifespan because of the heat. If that is not the problem check the batteries with a meter to see if they are good and if they are, replace the switch.

Try cleaning the contacts in the compartment with alcohol

It a good possible that ITT uses 3 volt CR123A. Maybe two of them or 2 double "AA's" stewbison

Is there a chance that the illumination button is stuck? This would run the batter down in a few days.

Did the same with my DW-003 and thought I'd broken the Illuminator (and the alarm didn't work). Next battery change was via a shop and the illuminator worked again (as did the alarm). This was just a battery cahnge, rather than a repair job - One of those things, I guess

Observe the IR illuminator with a digital camera and see if it if fluctuating in output brightness. If that is OK, the problem may be in the HV circuit. They are both easy to fix if the person has some experience.
