The advice I received did not tell me how to fix the problem with my unit, it just said I had a bad ribbon wire and it was easy to fix at low cost.

Thank you for your help but I could not fix my radio myself. Circut City where I bought the radio said they would send my radio off to a repair center to fis it, Once again thank you.

Hi,

Two possible corrective actions:
1. Do a reset. Most versions of the Pioneer DEH-P6800MP Car Stereo has a small recessed reset button. It can only be seen if you remove the front/face plate;
2. clean the little contacts both of the removal face plate and the fixed front of the unit. Use cotton buds and alcohol.
3. remove all power connections (red and yellow wire) for an hour or so. (You may need unlock code if previously enable and or as a security feature).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Dear customer

Thank u for ur inquiry

Problem: CD player is operational but there is no display or partial display.
Possible causes:

  1. Burned out back-light bulb(s).
  2. Bad connections to display panel (totally dead or erratic).
  3. Bad solder connections on display panel (some segment work).
  4. Bad power supply (EL panel filament, driver voltages).
U can check the bad solder by looking for any loose wires. do check it n revert back .
thanku

The part is about 32.50$ on ebay but It is not very simple to replace it. Are you sure you want to risk further damage and chance wasting 32.50 plus shipping? How old is the player and how much did you purchase the unit for?
Thanks,
Lee

Yea that is what I was getting to, that is why I asked the questions I did. That is probably what I would have recommended as I worked at a circuit city for over 4 years. You should be set with them.
I hope you will accept and rate my solution accordingly.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Hey there denisr, please take look at the display screen on the unit. If you see MONITOR, indicated in the display, then this is your problem . Simply deactivate via the button on the front of your machine. Hope it helps. Good Luck!

CD player won't work

Firstly is it burnt or factory cd? Most factory cd players won't play a burnt disk.
If you have a store-made cd and it is not reading that, then the lens inside the player is dirty and needs to be blown out with a can of "airduster"

I have a stanton-vestax cd-11 dual cd player, and was wondering how to get a cd to play on it. I put one in, turned the player on, pushed all the buttons and nothing happened. how does it work?

I have had one of these for many years: Switch it on, you must make sure the two transit screws at the back of each deck are fully unscrewed and loose, let the machine displays settle down, then insert a CD, then press the 'reset' button. There is a built-in delay of about 11 seconds before the deck begins to read. After this the machine should then display the first track number, and pressing the big red button will start play.

Pressing the 'reset' button again stops playback and the CD spins down, but if you leave the CD in there it will eventually re-index and cue up again. This feature is to enable fast, one-button CD changing and it works very well in practice, as the 11 second delay is enough time to take one CD out and get another in there before it tries to read it again.

To stop playback just press the 'reset' button (this is the most used button!) and take out the CD. After the delay, the machine will try to read a CD as normal, but display 'no CD' on the display. There is no stop button, as this unit was designed for continuous use in a club or disco.

Hope this helps. :)

Kenwood KDC-MP832U display not working

I had this problem! It was the Cars Battery. Kenwoods unit's fade or go completely blank when there is little power to power the stereo. Try charging your battery or grabing a new one from a scrappy! I was all over the net looking for help but finally sorted it!

P.S. My younger brother had to do the exact thing and it worked for him as well!!!
