Question about Coleman Quickpump

1 Answer

I have a coleman quickpump, but after camping this past summer my grandkids misplaced the part that you attach to the quick pump to pump up the air mattress. Is that particular piece available without buying a new pump? You can contact me at the following email. Thank you in advance Rod Werner Phone 715-573-2232

How to use pump to deflate air mattress

There is an intake port and an exhuast port on your Coleman quick pump. To determine and differentiate you need to turn it on and the one that is blowing air out is the exhaust that you would use to inflate the mattress. That leaves you with one other orifice that is taking air into the pump body. If you put your finger over that one it will suck down like a vacuum cleaner hose. That is the one that you want to attach the plastic adaptor nozzle to, and then hold the nozzle on the fill port of the air mattress. It will come down and into a vacuum state when it is all the way exhausted. Once completely deflated, they are much easier to fold back up and stow away. If you're at home and own a vacuum cleaner with a hose, save the batteries on your pump and use the vacuum cleaner. It will take about thirty seconds with that. Good luck with that.

Purchase a manual pump or a 12 volt pump that plugs into your cigarette lighter. Make sure your cigarette lighter works before you leave on your trip. There are also battery operated pumps.

Is my old Coleman QuickPump 5999-200C compatable with new Quickbeds?

If the new bed has a built in pump, you won't need the old pump. If not then you can use your pump on the new bed. It all depends on the model you choose to replace your old one.

My best answer is that your pump seals have dried out and are allowing pumped up pressure to leak back past the pump seal
Pump it up hard then quickly attach a small balloon with a rubber band around the base of the pump - where it contacts the tank. A deflated balloon or a small plastic baggie - does the balloon begin to fill with air after a few minutes - if yes then your seal is leaking.
You might try taking the pump apart and soaking the seal overnight in fuel reinstall and see if it cores your problem
Good Luck

Air pump stops blowing air after a few seconds.

Check for good spring tension on the battery connections and make sure the switch isn't coming apart. I had the same problem with 2 different pumps and they both had both issues.
