Have you tried the vcr/tv repair shops, they usually carry a lot of different sizes of belts. Radio Shack might be a possibility, liquidation stores.

I have a phillips combo tv/vcr working perfectly but when I insert a vhs tape it rejects and switches off. I have tried many tapes all working in my other vcr.the tv is working ok.

VCR ?? With the possible age of the device, there could be a lot of issues with grease that is old, belts that are stretched etc. A VCR senses tape tension in order to prevent eating the tape. Clean the unit and check all the belts.

A belt broke on my car and my ac dont work....what do i need or how much would it cost to repair?

im not sure of the year, make or model of this car but if everything else is working like the powersteering and alternator and car doesnt overheat then i would say that the belt may only run the ac compressor. the first thing to check is all pulleys, the belt may have broke due to being worn and old, the belt may have also broke due to a bad pulley or a frozen one. check all pulleys in which the belt runs on. spin each pulley by hand and make sure it spins freely, if all spins free then install a new belt , make sure to check the ac compressor also. good day.

My 19 inch tv/vcr combo has the Tape In indicator lite on, but no tape in it, and we cannot insert a new tape. Can you help?

I guess the easiest thing you can try , if you are handy with tools and a little knowledgeble with mechanical things is to replace the loading belt. Most of these problems are due to a loose belt(side of the cassette load mechanism) or inthe rear of the vcr mechanism(facing back cover)if this does not do it then i suggest geting it to a tv shop, might need timing align or end lamp replacement.

VCR/DVD prongs broken off in TV

unplug the tv then try to drill a real small hole in the broken off part of the cable that is inthe tv, then take a sharp pointed screw and try to thread it into the hole that you drilled if able to get it started then pull out on the screw to see if it will come out. If not able to do it this way you will have to take the back off and some of and see if you can push the broken part out from the inside. Be sure to unplug your tv from (AC) so you dont get hurt. If that dont work then u probley willhave to take to a shop to get fixed.

The prongs that attach the VCR/DVD player wires to the TV, broke

try twisting it out with a plier. It won't damage the tv as long as you do not bend

Cable connection part broke off in back

Are you talking about the part that connects the cable from the wall to the tv? I do not really understand which part on tv or vcr. It is true you can use the vcr as the tuner. You still have to connect the cable from the wall to the input cable jack on back of vcr. Then you hookup the R/W/Y rca plug- in cable from the back vcr output jacks (which are also color coded) to the tv's jacks. If you only have two jacks on the tv they will probably red and black. It doesn't really matter. Go from your video output on the vcr to the video input of tv, then use one of the audio outputs on vcr and go to the audio input on tv. It should work like that.

Tv shuts off after 10 seconds

Many times, Cam Gear in VCR gets Stuck due to its age (Loose Belt most time).

Or,

The Cassette Housing is off Track (Usually Bent, or Toys inside!!!)

Solution, if you are not all thumbs,

1) UN-PLUG first!!
2) Get Alcohol Pad Ready.
3) Open Back Cover,
4) Clean the Belt on Worm gear (Usually Side of the mechanism towrds back).
5) while at it, Make sure to Dust with Air Aerosol (like ones that you use for computer)

50% of time this will Fix the Problem!!

Belt broke

When I owned a repair shop, I ordered VCR parts from MCM Electronics. Try this link: http://www.mcminone.com/search.asp?keyword=belts

You can try calling them with the model & make of your unit or you can do what we did. Print out page 22 from their online catalog: http://www.mcminone.com/content/ProductData/Catalog52/section07.pdf

You will see a belt chart on the right. Using a pen or pencil, place the tip of the pen/pencil on the black dot. Using another pencil, lightly stretch the old belt (I know its broken) to determine what the length is. Observe whether the belt is round, flat or square. Finally, Measure the width of the belt. With those 3 parameters, you can then look in the catalog to find a replacement. Good luck!

Symphonic sc1304, vcr problem

Pulley belt stretched, replace. Remove the back cover to tv, slide the chassis out, remove speaker connector, and other ones to allow the chassis to be out away from cabinet to take the metal cover off surrouding the vcr unit. Usually a couple of screws that hold the whole vcr unit in, remove these, lift the unit from the chassis carefully and check the belt as it is stretched and not making tight grip on the white pulleys that perform the mechanical functions of the VCR. When putting back together, and replaced the belt be sure to lift the vcr door inward before sliding the chassis back into cabinet so the door latch will open and close properly, otherwise you put a tape in and the door won't open back up.
