Hello

You have been watching a DVD program. It may be In HDMI format, and you have selected the TV input for that format. That selection fromat is still there and has not been changed. To roll back to cable programme, you have to change that input selection, otherwise assaign input ot select cable, and you haven't done it. Goto input selection menu and select the input to cable.

Selections are
Antenna: Select it to watch over-the-air broadcasts.
Cable: Select it to watch cable and digital cable.
AV: Select them to watch a VCR or other external equipment.
Component: Select them to watch DVD or Digital Set Top Box.
RGB: Select it to view PC input.
HDMI: Select it to watch high definition devices.

In your TVs case, now you wants to watch the cable, so select input to cable.
To do this, surf through its Menu, come to input selection option, where you have the options stated above to select. Ok

Wish you Happy and Peacefull 2011.

LG tv model 47LK520 has audio but no picture screen is grey. what is the problem?

Most likely your input button needs to be on a different input , if you have cable on HDMI #1 and a dvd player on HDMI#2 make shure your input button on your remote is on the right input ...also double check your HDMI cables that they are working because I have had cases where they go bad ! hope this helps Sincerely Glenn

No picture, only sound on LG 47LV5500: how do I get picture back?

Definitely odd for sound to come through and not sound, especially via an HDMI connection.

I would contact LG for support, your TV could be defective.

Good luck

HOW TO PLAY DVD PLAYER WITH THE TV

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • DVD
  • RCA, component, or HDMI cable(s)
  1. Decide what type of connection to use. Look at the back of your DVD player. It should at least have RCA (red, yellow, white) output ports. It may also have component out, S-video out, VGA out, or HDMI out. These connections vary in picture quality and price, HDMI being the most expensive and providing for the highest-quality picture. Whichever type of connection you decide to use, you also need to verify that you have the same connection on your TV. Flat screen TVs typically have more connection options than other types of TVs, so you should at least have component, RCA and HDMI inputs.
  2. Connect the DVD payer to the flat screen TV. Take one end of the cable or cables you decided to use and connect to the output on the DVD player. The other end should be connected to the corresponding input on the TV. Video input connections are usually found on the sides of flat screen TVs. Once the DVD player has been connected, you are ready to use your DVD player.
  3. Check DVD player functionality. Tune your TV to the input that you used for your DVD player by pressing the button on your remote labeled "input," "source," "TV/video," Source select," "TV/AV" or the like. For instance, if you used an HDMI cable plugged into your TV's "HDMI 1" input, press the input selection button until you see HDMI 1 on the screen. Power on the DVD player, insert a DVD into the player and press play and you should now see a feed from your DVD player.

LG 47'' LCD HDTV 120Hz - Incorrect Picture Width

I just had this problem and got it solved. The issue is that your cable box is likely set to the wrong aspect ratio, so your tv will not be able to display the picture properly without this setting changed. On my cable box(Pace), you need to turn the power off to the cable box using the remote. Then hit the menu button on the remote and a new menu will appear on the screen. Change the aspect ratio to 16:9 and you should be all set. Hope this works for you too.

You may have a defective HDMI cable. If you have a friend with a working cable you could test yours on their system.

No picture when on for approx 15 minutes

It sounds like you are saying the "video looks scrambled but the audio keeps playing OK"

Normally this is a Video Processor Problem that requires a Board to be replaced.

When the problem happens, can you see the TV menu or the TV's On Screen Display clearly.

I suggest checking to see if the problem happens with the video inputs like, Composite(yellow/red/black), component(RGB/yellow and black), HDMI and S-video. If it happens to all inputs then you need to replace a board.
