Question about Gaggia Syncrony Compact Coffee Maker/Espresso Machine

1 Answer

I forgot to put the main part of the machine inside before I turned it on. Now the main part won't go in because it won't line up with the internal cogs because it has shifted to another step. How do I reset the machine back to the inital step so that I can put in the internal component. I have a Gaggia Syncrony compact.

Hi
You must make sure that the brew unit is ready to reinsert into the machine. To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this, look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. If you have you key you can insert it in the front of the brew unit. There is a round hold in the center below the "Push", and twist it clockwise until it stops and the 2 marks are lined up. If you don't have your key you can do this. Push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not, locate the slide on the left side of the brew unit, (it should be hanging down, a flat rectangular piece attached to the cylinder) and push the slide to the right until it does. Press the "Push" lever until you hear a click and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First you must close the door with the drip tray and dredge drawer inserted, and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and remove the tray, and dredge drawer, now insert the brew group, and replace the tray. If it still won't go in check the cog in the back of the machine. There are 2 wide teeth that should be at the 10:00 and 12:00 position. If they are at a different position you have a broken drive gear.

After a piece of gyprock fell on top of the washing machine, it now no longer has any power.

as its a front loader
a few things can happen

i think you need to take the top off the machine

and using the plug for the mains

and a DVM meter {cheep } use ohms setting like 20 or beep or both

and then from the plug follow the mains from the plug
to the supply inside the machine

examine where the cable goes in etc
look for 'open circuit ' lines

if the two likes connected accross from mains in to inside
doesnt beep the wire is disconnected
L N should power on lines enable

your shure to track it down this way ...
machine dont have internal fuses
i think its a chopped cable cracked board or loose plug

rule out the obvious and what ever left must be the truth

it could have even just knocked off a plug on the main controller.....pcb

I have turned off main gas line to dryer and have checked that and the connecting line to dryer and see no leakage but I still have an odor of gas in dryer itself. what should I check next?

check the line inside leading to the flame igniter and glo bar, how did u check for gas leak? just smell or sight? try using a mixture of water and dish detergent by spraying it on the lines while gas is on, and if u see bubbles u got gas leak?

My machine won't meter water into machine

When doing inside jobs on the machine see that the power line is off the wall mains. Also note which line goes where before dismantling it.
First try turning off the machine for 30 minutes. Disconnect the pipes at the back top of machine, to see if water comes full flow from your water supply. Check the fine filters on the machine inlet entry, they could be blocked, clean out with old tooth brush. Some filters are removable.
The FH indicates a fill failure and this is usually caused by a bad water valve, flow meter or pressure switch.
One key to determining the cause of the FH error is how fast the error comes up in a cycle. If the error appears within 1 or 2 minutes then the most likely cause will be the water valve or flow meter.
If the error doesn't appear for several minutes then the pressure switch can be the source of the problem.
Both water valves must be turned on and working. Even if a cold wash is selected at some point during the fill the hot water valve will be energized and if there is no water then the FH error will show up. Sometimes a consumer will turn the hot water valve off to save energy but you can't turn one valve off on some washers.
Inlet valves can be purchased thru the net and fitted by you easily.
Water into machines are not 'metered', it is measured by your flow meter inside the machine. A line going up from your outlet area to your panel above to activate a switch, according to water pressure.
Pl click if helped. There are gud videos on YouTube.

Won't drain the water anymore

Drain motor is usually located on the bottom of the machine. Hopefully you have an access panel separate from the main door panel. Should be a hose coming in and a hose going out. Put the machine in spin cycle and see if you can feel the pump spinning. If the pump is very hot, chances are something is blocking it. They will usually have an access port that can be opened up just for this reason, be ready to catch the water when you open it up, and please turn the machine off first. If you get no sign of life from your pump it may have died. Also check for any blockages in the drain lines. All of this should be easily accomplished with a couple screwdrivers and towels

My son put a load of laundry in and forgot the hot water heater was broke when he turned the machine on. It wouldn't run and the door is still locked. We tried unplugging it, holding the cancel butt

Remove the lower panel by taking out the screws at the bottom. Unplug washer. Then reach up inside to the bottom of the door switch and pull down on lever to unlatch the door. Try running machine again after plugging back in.

Dishwasher does not fill with water

Water supply line may be kinked by some clutter next to or behind the machine, or line may even be clogged internally, or water pump inside machine is broken in which case someone will have to take it all apart. But FIRST, unplug the machine SAFELY from its power outlet if possible, wait a minute and then plug the power cord back in and check operation again to make sure it wasn't just experiencing some sort of electronic control problem that needed simple reseting.

Next, if still not working and if the rubber water supply line/hose is not simply kinked by an object, then turn your water off at the main valve in the basement, lay a towel down directly below the machine's supply line/hose.
Next pull the entire machine out from under the counter onto the kitchen floor so you can work on it.
Unscrew the other end of the supply hose from its entry port into the dishwasher and inspect the port entry hole for chunks of rubber or crud that may have been washed in and be obstructing flow of water. Dig the chunks out with a toothpick or use a wet vacuum with a small nozzle adaptor to **** out any chunks or crud. If the hose is worn, replace it and reattach the new one.
If the hose is not worn and the water supply input port to the machine looks clear, then place and hold the end of the machine's now disconnected supply hose into a bucket on the floor (other end of the hose being still attached to the main plumbing or water pipe) and ask someone else to turn the house's water valve back on for just a second and then immediately turn it back off). Meanwhile, you can watch to see if water comes out of the end of the supply hose (the end that was unscrewed from the machine), so you will know that water supply to the machine itself is not the problem and know whether the malfunction lies in the machine itself. In that case if water travels through the supply hose into the bucket, the pump inside the machine is probably broken. Even if you buy a new hose, you may want to check it in this way also just to make sure there's not an obstruction in the main plumbing at the point where the hose connects to it.

If none of these earlier things work, then at that point may wish to call service or purchase a new machine if its a bit old as there likely is a problem with the pump or an electronic control mechanism....

Also, if you didn't know, dishwasher's need to be cleaned once in a while. Fill up a couple big bowls of vinegar and set them inside the dishwasher and turn on the dishwasher without soap and run a cycle. The vinegar will wash out of the bowls and through the internal ports of the washer and help dissolve any soap crud and build up. Probably have to do this three times in a row to fully clean it. Dishes will then not look as filmy once the washer has been cleaned...
