Question about Samsung Televison & Video

1 Answer

Moved our Samsung lcd tv into a different room last night and since then our screen remains blue when tv is powered on. The only way that we can get a picture to appear is to remove the coaxial cable and then reconnect, then the picture appears and it works fine. Everytime the tv is powered off the same problem happens again when we turn the tv back on.

We had already tried the auto tune several times. This does bring up the picture but again it is only until the tv is powered off and then it's the same blank screen when it's turned back on.

Hello

Just retune the TV with coaxial cable connected, make it auto tune as per its manual says. Make sure to note whether the coaxial cable end connections are firm. The problem now you faces is due to AGC [automatic gain control]. It must be retifed as you autotune the tv. Please wait till all the channels have been tuned and stored in its memory and displays the first channel received. Make a keen look at the coadial cable connections and make sure that it has no break inside at all. OK.

    Hello
The tuned channels are not memorizing in it. It is the problem. It can neither due to the trouble of its tuner inside, if it is connected diretly with an antenna, nor the trouble of the tuner inside the settop box. When we put the system into autosearch mode, it must tune all available programmes and should send each programe paramenters in the form of different voltages, and will be stored into a memory IC iside the system, whatever device we use to tune be. Whether we use the TVs tuner , it may be due to the Ts tuning section, and its mamory section. if we use set top box to tune channels, this fault lies inside that device's circuits.
Just determine which device has the trouble. Just tune the TV with connecting an external antenna first. If it memorizes the channel positions it is ok. If not the TV should be chcked out by replacing its memory IC, whicl will be a small one with 8 pins , can be located very near to the system control IC, and can be replace easly.
If ite fault is with set top box. you have to look into it in the same way as I described above, and do the same thing as i suggested in case of TV.
If you have further doubts, feel free to contact me through Fixya. OK.

The blue screen you see is due to no signal position, as the blue back option is set to on. When there is signals, it will chage over to that signal and will display it, and when there is no signal the screen will show a blue background as you see now. This may also be due to the trouble of set top bod, if you connected, from which it outputs no signal at all. Ok

    Hello
Just check the cable that connects the TV and the other device, ie, set top box, external anetenna; for any break. Check the TV is set to recive transmisson, by going to its settings, and try to tune it with external antenna first, and see whether it responds to any transmission on air or not. If it doesn't respond to these, surely there will be some truble to its tuner. The blue screen is the clear evidence, that its Video If section doesn't get any signals and it must come from its tuner output inide it. OK.

Sony KLV-27HR3 won't come on

Check to see if you are getting a back light by looking through the slots on the back cover. If you are getting a backlight then it is not your power board. If no back light check your connection in another outlet different room if possible or use a long extension. If still no back light then you are likely to need a new power board.

Poor reception on some digital channels

If possible either move the set to a room with no reception issue to see if same there or move another set to where this one is.

Usually a set does not have a problem if only certain channels.

Swap the set(looking for loose or damaged connection where cable crimps to fitting) if you can.

First thing I would try will beusing this monitor with another PC using the same the same setup to see if it works OK. We need to narrow down the cause of the problem first since you have three parts that can be bad; Monitor, DVI cable, PC Video card/PC. It is just a process of elimination to locate the problem.

I am getting a "no signal" on the blue screen on DTV mode of my Protron PLTV-3750 LCD. It has worked until I moved it to a different room. The signal is good on other tv. Anything I can do?

First make sure you have your cables connected securely, then try to move your antenna around and rescan your channels everytime you move the antenna.

Sony KF50WE610 Vertical Blue Lines Across Screen

the vertical blue lines indicate some interference from other electronic gadgets near your tv. it started showing up on my sony grand wega when i installed my wireless modem. i almost ordered a new rear projection lamp costing over $100 but decided to experiment. i first moved my desk computer farther away from the tv then isolated the wireless modem router by placing it inside a small glass - the vertical blue lines became lighter in color so i dedided to find another small glass that fit inside the first glass container then put the router in the double glass - no more blue lines and my wireless modem router still works.
do some deductive thinking to figure out what's messing up your tv and isolate the interference.
good luck!

Check out the fixYa solution for the Samsung LNS4051D- it sounds like the same problem. Defective capacitors. You may need different part though.  We just fixed my mom's LNS4051D with that problem. I have the LNT4665 and although it hasn't failed yet, I am tempted to get some capacitors just in case.

Screen is filled with a circular Red/Green/Blue pattern

The problem will be with the de-gausing circuit, this de-magnetises the tube when the set is switched on from cold, this is a fault you will need to get an engineer to look at ie, not a D.I.Y repair.
