Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook
I had my laptop Toshiba Satellite A105-S4211 onboard ethernet port connected to netgear wireless router. Yesterday, there were big thunderstorms and lightening and my wireless router power adapter stopped working. nothing happened to any other electronic components that were connected and there were no sign of blown/fire/smoke on the power adapter of wireless router. But the laptop ethernet port disappeared from the windows. I reinstalled the windows from the recovery cd but no luck. I suspect the ethernet port on mobo is dead too but it is not showing up at all. wireless adapter is working but my wireless router is dead with no adapter...
Thanks in advance.
I think you have answered your own problem, your wireless has possibly been zapped.
To test your ethernet adapter on your laptop connect it to a network hub, check the hub and see if you have a link light on the hub and or laptop..
To test your wireless router, connect it to a known working computer with a network card and check the router configuration, using the browser, if you cannot access it then its zapped.
