Question about Acer Computers & Internet

1 Answer

The computer froze, and so I took out the battery, and now the computer won't start up, and says that a file is missing. It says that I should insert the original set-up CD-ROM but there isn't a place to insert a CD-ROM. What do I do?

Does it say boot disk missing? if so you;ll have to re-insert your re-installation disks that came with your computer.

Hello,

Insert the windows xp reinstallation disc and boot up your computer. It will load up the missing files. Do a start up repair.

I hope this helps!

Boot mgr file missing

This has something to do with your operating system. You can fix this by inserting your Operating system's disc. Restart your computer after inserting the disc into your DVD drive. When you see "Press any Key to Boot to CD", then press any key.

Do a repair start up or repair computer. The missing file should be uploaded to your computer.

After fixing your computer, I suggest that you install Radarsync so that you can automates its updating mechanism which minimizes common issues in the operating system.

I hope this helps!

Won't turn on

I had this same problem! Scoured the web and found no solution. This is what I did to fix it...

Remove battery. Unplug charger. Press and hold the power button for 20 - 30 seconds. While still holding the power button, re-insert the battery and/or plug in the charger. Voila! Came back to life and worked like nothing ever happened.

I also did the same thing with the record button, but it was the power button that got the result.

Hope this helps!

My computer froze and the only way i could turn it off was holding the power button and when i went to turn it back on it went to a black screen in the start up menu and now its saying no bootable device...

  • Your hard drive has crashed. Your computer was unable to start up because the files needed to start up are missing. You must go to your nearest IT support center (best buy, radio shack) and see if any files from your hard drive can be recovered.
  • Please reply if you have any more questions. Good luck! (Please give a thumbs up, I am doing this for a summer job!)

All start menu items missing. Previous employee

Please try performing a cold boot that restores formats, preferences and other settings to default settings:
  1. Press the primary battery release on the mobile computer to partially eject the battery from the mobile computer.
  2. While the battery is partially released, simultaneously press and release the handle trigger and the power botton.
  3. Push the battery to fully re-insert it in the mobile computer, one audible click should be heard when the battery is fully inserted.
  4. The mobile computer initializes.
  5. Calibrate the screen.

My phone froze last night, so i took the battery out to restart it, but now when i go to turn it on, the logo just keeps flashing, and thats as far as it will go..

Try this : Remove the sim card, start the phone. Wait about 2-3 minutes then turn it off or remove the batt. and insert the sim card and start the phone again. It should start normally. This is not a certain solution.

I have found many other people on the internet with my same problem... my phone froze so i took battery out to restart it, like i have before, but now it won't turn back on fully just goes to verizon...

Taking out the battery probably corrupted some files in your phone... If not, Try taking out the battery for a few minutes, and press the power button for 3 seconds before inserting it back.

If non of this worked, then you might have to get your phone serviced...

Try Rebooting the camera. Take out the existing batteries and insert some new ones. Then, turn it on and the lens should go back inside!

Hope this helps.

Windows xp missing file and won't start up

Here's what I would do, because after reading around on that error message, it seems like you can't repair the problem.

I would find myself one of these: http://www.casecooler.com/3drto2dr.html

Take out your laptop's HD, hook it up to that convertor, slave it to a desktop, pull all your data that you don't want to lose to the desktop, put the laptop's HD back into the laptop, reformat/reinstall windows back onto the laptop, pull the HD back out of the laptop, hook it back up to that convertor, slave it back to the desktop, put your data back onto the laptop's HD, then put it back in the laptop.

That will leave you with a clean install that works on the laptop and you won't lose any data.
