Question about NetGear ReadyNAS Duo RND2110 NAS server (S6819022) Network Storage Server

1 Answer

Hi, few days ago I bought a Netgear NAS 2110 and connected it to my Netgear WNDR3700 router. I installed RAIDar utility and followed the instructions. Everything seemed to work alright. From my laptop I could copy files to NAS and everything still seemed to work as it should. Then I would like to switch off the server and I pushed the power button, but nothing happened. I tried again for 5 seconds and nothings happened. Then I tried again and it switched off. Next day I pushed the button to switch on again and the blue light started to flicker and after 2 hours it still hasn't connected and RAIDar utility cannot locate the NAS. The On/off button doesn't work anymore or at least I cannot turn it off. Could you please help me finding a solution on the problem with power switch and connection.

If it's new it's probably doing some housekeeping. The drives need to be formatted and then the RAID arrays need to be sorted.

On installing my server, it took days to complete, however, that was with existing data on the drive.

It might not be letting you switch off because it's busy and doing so would mess up what it's trying to perform.

If you don't want to wait to find out if all is OK, go into the configuratio utility and set just one drive up. This will show if it's working as a unit. If all is fine, install the remaining drives, maybe one at a time.

Using Netgear DG834 ADSL Modem, want to add a netgear WNDR3700 Wireless Router to act as an assess point

The simplest way to add more ethernet ports is to use a network hub and connect it to the Netgear DG834 instead of the Netgear WNDR3700. This does not require any configuration.

If it is this new I would suggest calling Netgear and have their support help you out. Due to the way their warranty works that would be best. I have a netgear router and hate it. I wish I had taken it back as soon as I had trouble. I also out sourced my problem and keep fooling with it, till it was to late to return it and the warranty ran out. Netgear is the hardest most difficult routers to deal with. May or may not work with AT & T DSL they will not tell you if that is the problem or not. Tell you it's your wireless phone or your neighbors who knows, In other words they do not know what causes these problems. Sorry for your trouble with Netgear.
